This game isn't being published by EA games(Thank god.)..you can't expect it to be all over the world the night it comes out.

Fortunately we can stop ships in seconds on this game..if we couldn't what would become of all those space ponies?...:\
I agree with Keil on this one. Homeworld 2 was an awesome game, and it can't really be compared to Sins. First off, Homeworld 2 is pretty freakin' old compared to Sins, and also, Sins is so different in style of gameplay, it really shouldn't be possible to compare the two on equal grounds.
I agree and what you say has already been said countless times..I've just gotten to the point that I want to sick the Space Ponies onto the peo
Perhaps I should compare them with a picture of a fighter? I mean just look at that block in the second screens corner. :\
I'm tired of reading it. Some of you who have been here longer will know what I'm talking about.
This is a game not a sim, and we already pretty much now that Sins is not based in our universe..hence the FLT drives. So why not at least make the frigates move around more? Cruiser to would be nice..however the big cap ships..You have to consider the scale. Look at the cap ship then at planet. Sometimes they are 1/4th the size of the planet.
Got you guys beat... I was hitting 7000KB+ for a while there. But then again, i'm using government Internet connection here at my work. Your tax dollar at work. I hope they don't block off stardock soon.
Sure that wasn't 7000bytes? :p
With how well Sins seems to be doing, I don't think you'll have to wait too long for a European publisher..I think, But I really have no idea what i am talking about.
molasses..reminds me of a scene in Outlaw Josey Wales..and don't beat me! CLINT is sweet. >.>
You should be able to run the game on high resoultions with a 512mb card easily. What I am saying is why would resolution have anything to do with sound. I have had my sound break once, but it was in multi player and it only happened for 5-6 seconds..then the game went back to normal, I think it was more a thing of lag.
I agree about the Empire Tree, so many game could of been saved if it has something even half as awesome.
Still easier support for 2k would be nice..then I could sin at school.. ;x
Seriously, I played a 9 star game with 488 planets. If I had any more ships on that beast my poor vista would of died, and so I shut it down and acted like I never played that game.
Read this thread, should be a workaround some where in it. [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?forumid=408&aid=175229"]Windows 2000[/link]
If only it worked for other games..
halo 3 sucked... looked like it was designed in 2005
Wasn't it? then released 3 years later..aint suprising.
Perhaps the question should be..how many people get into a game online? ;p
Hey, I want my window key left alone (I often browse forums during the game)! If its a problem for you, get a keyboard with a windows key lock.
Totally agree with this. I know you're having problems with the pirates guys but you don't have to hit your keyboard around like the angry German kid. Otherwise you shouldn't see windows popping up.
Holy hell guys, this was just a help thread not a debate thread on xp vs vista or 32bit versus 64bit operating systems. And the reason my game was crashing wasn't because of the original post, though I still have to use to play other games.
No the best advice would be to get vista 64 bit. Microsoft will eventually force most gamers to get vista anyways.
You can try this fix I posted, it works for me so long as you follow the instructions. Read step 3 carefully. [link="https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/?AID=175600#1447768"]WWW Link[/link]
Well, I kept getting the error for other games as well and found this fix for it. Since I have enabled it sins hasn't crashed on me for no reason. So I just assumed this was the problem. But, yes the update is a must if you play most other games on vista. Edit* You are right dcatz thats why I set it back after playing my games. Its recommended to set it back most definitely.
Yeah, Sins has a great soundtrack and while you're listening to it in the game its even better. It just brings you into the moment like its supposed to.
Never heard of a DVD doing that to a computer..check like Shadows says though.
I don't know how many of you are playing this on vista 32 bit version, but if you are after a few hours or so your game might crash for no apparent reason. Reason: The game runs out of address space. Vista 32 bit is limtied to 2048mb of it and after a while it gets used up and your game gets pwned. However you can fix this- 1. Open the Command prompt as Administrator in Vista: (Start > All Programs > Accessories > right click Command Prompt > Choose run as Administrator) 2. En
