You really are funny. Go ahead and call me a baby killer, is that supposed to scare me or something? Yeah right, I'm shaking in my boots. Your beha
That the forum doesn't work for you could be a problem at your hand. I'm currently experiencing the same - I can't reply to the last thread of the Kzinti Empire (when using IE as usual), but shifting to Firefox will solve that.
Ahh ... That particular problem is usually because someone has used MS Word to post some bogus html and that wrecks the page for IE but not FF. Usually Kryo can fix the thread but even if not when the thread gets to the next page then you're

Anti-AGW = Pro-Tobacco The caption says it all. Every single one of the following right-wing "think tanks" that are heavily involved in the fight against AGW were and in some cases still are equally heavily involved in the fight against Anti-Tobacco legislation. Same people. Same lies. Smoke'em if you got'em. LSMFT http://www.
As for the whole "the data shows warming"... one of the chief accusations is that of selectively terminating measuring stations showing cooling.
Even if this argument were correct (which it's not) then what about the two separate satellite records that both show warming, what about the physical evidence of plants whose habital zone has marched steadily north or animals whose northern migrations now start earlier and earlier and whose southern migrations start later.
The burden of proof is on the proponent.
There are thousands of peer reviewed articles published in well respected scientific journals that support AGW. To me that is sufficient proof. For any other field of science such as the medical field that would be sufficient for even you. No one can prove anything to someone that simply denies all evidence and I have no desire to try. Believe what you want. I'm not arguing with you or trying to convince you because you are h
Showing a graph whose trendline indicates a rise in temperature (reply 7 by mumble) cannot be used as evidence to contradict a claim that the data which was used to chart it has been falsified. Certainly if the data in the graph was legitimate then you would have had a point.
The source data in the graph that I posted in reply #7 is clearly stated to be the GISTEMP Land Ocean Index which is from the NASA Goddard Institute of Space Studies. For someone to doubt the validity

Sorry about the momentary topic shift. But back to the main point of this thread. After participating in a number of these "discussions" I've concluded that there really is no point whatsoever in arguing with people that are willing to deny 30 years of documented warming. There is no argument that cannot be ignored, denied, obfuscated or outright lied about. It's the tactics of the tobacco industry all over again. There is no need to prove any claim, there is no need to disprove the m
Oh, Hi Mumblefratz, been a while since I've seen you on the forums. I'm using the Impulse forums now. Is that where you're coming in?
No still mostly GalCiv2 although I will occasionally take a look at what the Ayn Rand crowd over on JU are up to. The problem is that the Off-topic forum is also visible there so that's were most of the rabid right wing is coming from although we do have our share of native wingnuts as well. I also still hang out at <a href="http://www.tyr

The thing is that over the past 35 years Global Warming has progressed counter to the prevailing direction of the suns output. At this point we are at a very deep minimum of the sunspot cycle which has accounted for all the "global warming stopped in 1998 arguments" which of course it hasn't but that's another story. Anyway here's a graph from http://www.skepticalscience.com/solar-activity-sunspots-gl

Also if you take a look at the raw data you'll see that January 2010 was not only the warmest January ever, it was the 3rd warmest *month* ever following Feburary and April of 1998 in the UAH dataset and the 4th warmest *month* ever following Feburary, April and May of 1998 in the RSS dataset. Just to be painfully clear warmest in this context means deviation from the norm which is why a Janurary can in some sense be warmer than a July (in the northern hemisphere of course).

The reason that I use Wiki and not the actual reports is because downloading the actual reports is a pain in the fucking ass, pardon my french. How do you have the patience? So OK. I bit the bullet and started downloading. First I downloaded the AR4 Synthesis Report. 52 pages and they provide a link to down load the entire file, <

I just happened to see that video on another site. Regretably, I know full well the kind of choice that people face at the end of their lives. Some folks are lucky and pretty much live their lives out in their own homes and quickly die without too much pain. Even in this case it's hard to say "not too much pain" because even though it may only be a couple of weeks of suffering there is no denying that there is suffering involved. With enough narcotics it can be tolerable but even in that case
One more thing, the documents/ e-mails posted from East Anglia were not hacked from an outside source. They were sent to the BBC from someone on the inside, the person waited a month for the BBC to report it and then the person posted it on the web. But I will grant that being a weatherman does not automatically mean that someone has no basis for an expertise in climatology. I just maintain that in and of itself being a TV weatherman does not in any way require or demonstrate any particular expertise in climatology. In reality the only requirements to be a TV weatherman or woman is to be able to stand in f
