I noticed that there is no longer any laserII, railgun IV, Stinger III, etc. on the tech tree. Does that mean there is only one level per weapon type now, and no more stages of improvement to go through like before?

I've been a die-hard C&C fan for years, and the way this game is coming out looks fairly promising. The only serious issue I see with it is that it's not really bringing anything new to the RTS genre, other than the ability to broadcast your matches on a massive scale (think RTS as a big sport), and the hardcore competitive nature the game seems to portray. In my opinion, if you got the money, buy both of them. If you only have the money for one though, then buy SupCom - seriously, t
The only two reasons why you want a huge pop planet would be a) to get really high scores in the metaverse or b) to make production/transport planet, since the late game somewhat requires you to have planets which can both quickly produce military transports and at the same time hold a large number of citizens for you to recruit.
I've always found that the AI military is pathetic in the late stages of the game. With a similar tech level and two strong fleets, I usually wipe the floor with them on crippling. I want a strategy that makes the AI strong in the late game. given all of the improvements made to DA's AI, I'm pretty sure you'll get your wish! <img src="h
Class 0 planets are generally such that no significant population or infrastructure could be developed... but here's an interesting thought: you can still mine them, their moons, their rings, and whatever else may be in orbit! What if those class 0 planets were more than just eye candy, and instead acted like asteroid fields that you need a special tech to properly access?
Is the expansion going to be in-stores as well? If not, when will the Bundle pack of DL and DA come out?
The one, the only really, really, really lacking feature... CARRIERS! I had to say it, I'm sorry, so, so sorry. And before anyone says it... YES I KNOW BRAD SAID NO!!!!!!!!!!! Shame on you, StormBringer, shame on you.
When I taught civics, I asked my students on the first day of class to start working on their own definitions of Big Words like power, politics, and democracy. I usually started them off with a fairly famous short def of politics: the art of resolving conflicts over scarce resources. Seems to me you could accurately define GCII in very similar terms. <br/
1. Political espionage 2.Epic Generaltor 3.Stealth tech, or maybe scrambler/jammer techs
It really couldn't hurt to make the game more political really: just don't make it to the point where you can't do jack without consulting your consulate/senate/congress etc... One nice option for future GalCiv games would be political espionage. Say for instance, you are the Krynn and you want to make Alan Bradley lose his next election or maybe bribe some important folks in the Terran Alliance to give away a tech that bradley didn't want to sell you on some conditions. You could se
Now should that thing have great maneuverability? If it's anything like in Star Trek then yes.
Large hulls are allot heavier than tiny hulls so the engines need to be allot bigger and stronger to make the big ships move equally fast than a small ship, so more room needs to be taken. Actually, it's the other way around: smaller ships go slower due to a lack of mass and bigger ships will go quicker due to their size and mass. If you do
Problems would arise in some of the bigger maps, foreign, influence, and especially on those worlds which have an extremely high pop. Furthermore, it would kinda ruin the immersion of the game somewhat if your were to be "replaced" during a coup or poor election year, since it means you aren't the leader but are actually some type of omnipotent presence in the game. (Hey, that's not a bad idea for a random event! Imagine if a Q-like entity were to pop up and start screwing around with
Is it just me, or is your influence practically smothering the map in your pics??
I like the idea. It might actually work if it were turned into some type of Mega-Event where if you don't take a certain planet from, say, the Korath before they finish building the Doomsday device, then everyone in the galaxy will get anhilated or something to that effect... Nah, on second thought, that's too harsh. It would be more annoying than fun, really. Prolly the same with the Terror Stars too.
Why did they nerf the Stock Exchange even further?!?!?! WHY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, how'd you squeeze all of those economy starbases together like that, guys????
The Dmer - they're the ultimate annoyance in some games due to their ability to rapidly cause crime to increase along with the space pirates, and are even lethal to your trade routes at times.
I guess it might work, but the thing is that I've had this game since late may of this year, and I'm pretty sure the receipt won't work at so late a date, especially with a store like Gamestop! Their store policy is that after two business days (48 hours), you won't be able to return a product unless it's a total dud, so a refund ain't likely. Thanks for all the help though Kryo, I really do appreciate al
I just got a reply from Stardock about this issue: "Hello, Thank you for your interest in Galactic Civilizations II. Unfortunately, it appears that the serial number you provided/are attempting to use has already been linked to another customer record. Usually, this occurs if you have already registered under another email address. If this is your first time registering Galactic Civilizations II, you have purchased a used cop
Ok, I've sent the letter to stardock... this was the response I got from them: Hello. The activation email you sent to [email protected] has had a problem while parsing and was unable to generate a sig.bin file. The information from your original email has been resent to [email protected] for them to attempt to track down what was unhappy. If you have previously activated this product, please make sure you are entering the same email address as that prior
Hmm, alright. One question though: how EXACTLY do you reach the GalCiv2 sig.bin file? Thanks.
Hey there, guys! Before I begin, hats off to Stardock for making Galactic Civilizations II such a great game and being so committed to its fans and all - it really shows. Okay, enough butt-kissing, now its down to business! The problem I have may seem old and look like its been sticky posted on the 'Support & Bugs' forum, but it hasn't - at least, for my ailment. You see, after the eternity
Hey guys, I got a question. Whenever you choose to be neutrally aligned and also happen to research the Neutrality Learning Centers (NLCs), do you have to build them like you would a normal research building, or its it just a major resarch bonus that gets applied to your research abilities without any other requirements? Because in my game, I never see the NLCs become available for construction once I research them, so is this normal or some type of glitch? Thanks for hearing me ou
