Building that library above should be a choice. Do I build the library and attract mages? Do I bulid a barracks and attract warriors? Do I delegate quests or persue them myself, and what are the advatages of each approach? Those decisions are fun to make. Whether to cast flame dart for 2 or call lightning for 3 is not.
Agreed players should have to make choices. Currently I build everything.

I like your comments about hero's and having an inn as a place to meet them. That said, I would like to see the hero's exhibit a tad bit of a personality;a taste for loot, power or independence. Now I hire a hero and don't really care about them or interact with them. I would like to see the hero's give the player advice based on their specialty and intelligence. Perhaps a skilled cavalry warrior hero designs a cavalry unit for the player if they unl

I wonder, a player's governing style that affect their relationship with their people? For example, is your kingom a strict religious kingdom (Spanish Inquistion), does it favor merchantile economy, is it a typically feudal society, an enlightened ruler or is yours a kingom where might makes right and fear rules the night (think Vlad the Impaler) or is yours a warrior kingdom that thrives on plunder. Will players be able to favor a particular diety or allow several

The campaigns I like best is where your actions or inactions have a major impact on the world around you. Example 1. The PC hears a tale of a few giant spiders in a forest. If the PCs fail to deal with the threat they multiply in number and eventually attack the nearest village. If left unchecked they continue to multiply in number and expand their domain. I would like to see something along these lines in Elemental. The PCs hears news of spiders and if they fail to take action the sp

Combat Atrributes I would like to see ratings that would affect tactical combat beyond Attack, Defense, Hit Points and Speed. Example: 01. Initiative in combat. A unit with initiative 50 would move before a unit with initiative 30. The more a unit trains the higher would be its initiative. A units initiative may be affected by its leader - i.e. some leaders give a penalty to initiative while others give a bonus. 02. Discipline. Discipline would be inf

From my point of view; 1. AI needs to know not to make suicidal attacks against starbases, especially at higher AI levels 2. Fleets should aid starbases when starbases are attacked - subject to logistics limits 3. Stabases need more modules such as; a. Ship Repair Module I - increases repair rate of ships in Starbase tile +10% b. Ship Repair Module II c. Starbase Cloaking Device I - hides ships in Stabase tile from scan d. Starbase Ship Projector I

RE: Starbase Wishlist 1. ADD Ship Size Specific Weapon Systems ----- Example: Pulsar Gun Module I that is Effective Against Slow Huge Ships, but ineffective against Smaller Fast Ships. Of course the Pulsar Gun fires only every other turn. 2. ADD Starbase Jammer Modules that shield from Enemy Scans - Ships adjacent to the Starbase and Starbase Weapon Systems UNLESS Friendly SHIP is EQUIPPED WITH SCANNER MODULE Rated Higher than the Starbase JAMMER Module. Activating

It will be interesting to see what Stardock comes up with, especially in the area of different races such as; for example, evil frog folk that move easily and invisibly through and along the waterways and oceans of the realms to make surprise attacks upon enemy realms. I will also be lookinig forward to seeing if they execute animated battles between opposing armies where each side can assign commanders and wizards; with special abilities, to their armies. Example; Commander Si

RE: 4X Fantasy Strategy Game Wish List 1. Strategy with Drill Down to Tactical Level Combat for both Army and Dungeon Combat. Example: Army enters Combat with another army and/or hero unit and the map switches to a tactical level display of the battlefield. Hero enters a small randomly generated dungeon to find an artifact and perhaps slay the guardian creatue. 2. Politics - in all the books I have read, the hero's and villans always strive to convin

RPG I too would like to see an RPG, but one where 1) the player's choices affect the world about him in a dramatic way and 2) encounters are unpredictable and change from game to game. Example of 1: Player is asked to Perform Task X. If the quest is not completed by Date XX/XX/XX they find the village of XXXXX is reduced to ruins, and many of its inhabitants slain while the Big Boss Creature is now armed with the YYYY taken from the village. Thus - complete the quest a
