That's exactly what I was talking about. There's an option to toggle that behavior on or off, and which you use just depends on whether you do minor upgrades or major overhauls more. Kryo, I think that kuertee is referring to that fact when you select upgrade in the main shipyard that it loads up just the shell of that sign design and none of its engines, weapons, defenses or modules. If fact this is not really an upgrade, it is designing a new ship with the same look. It would be nice to have the beam weapons of the ship I am trying to upgrade, already on the new shell.
