hmm... interesting this may be happening, but my computer seems to reconize all 4gb, mostly the ram upgrade was for vista which i will be getting in about a month.

That could also be a memory condition. If you are running low on RAM and end up using the swap file more, you system will start to slow down. most likely not the case, i had 2gb a week ago and now i have 4gb and it really made no differance.

Neverwinter Nights 2 requires a tremendous amount of graphics power, though I'm not sure if the return is worth it. I'd wait until later in the month and pick up Supreme Commander. If youre set on the sci fi 4x turn based, theres Sword of the Stars and Space Empires 5, if you cant wait another 2 weeks. Not as good as GC2 (but not completely *terrible*), but maybe serve as a tide-me-over. sword of the stars is a Very Bad Game... believe me its a waste of money!

start trading for military technologies, from how it sounds your in it deep... but there's always hope against the AI, once you aquire some weapons devote all spending to your military 60-70% on the slider...you may need to micromanage each colony to military production...your gonna take some losses but build up quick and take it all back! you must keep up some sort of military or the AI will try to take you out every time

teancum, is right i missed that your attacker uses missiles and your defense shields so your defense is useless basic a value of 7.7 point defense... i always have about twice as much attack rating as defense, also i put multiple defenses on ships if the AI's have multiple weapons techs, many people says that multiple defense is a waste, but i find it a solid method, i almost always have 2 types of defenses on my ships. and as for featauril, just look at the numbers you dont need kyro's batt

your fleet has no firepower...the enemys ship have almost as much shields as you have beam weapons, because the attacker rolls 0-43 and your ships defense roll 0-60, your enemy has a great chance of doing damage even though your defense is much better...lots of defense later in the game is mostly useless for its price.

I just have a few things that i think would really enhance game play. thinking mostly for GC3. First tactical battle... the current battle system does an okay job of selecting ships for target, i really like the enhancement to the battle system in DA beta, but i would still like to target the ships myself in sort of a turnbased battle sim, and have my ships run evasive manuveurs kinda like in BOTF... it just kills me to watch fleets battles that look like a bunch broken down ships th

so i now when the drengin declare war they get a bunch of free ships, but what is this based on, i dont see how going from 30 ships to 1200 ships is very fair and also they seem to ignore all defense (ie att ship MD damage 2, def ship armor 10; but i take full damage (2) each shot.

some where in the journals frogboy had said something about the new combat system... i don't remember where but i do remember that its based on the total number of weapons on the ship not just the total weapon damage (ie a ship now can shoot more than once a turn but the damage from each shot is less.) also defense decreases with damage taken. this is about all i can remember.

i've also had a similar experience with the Korx... after completely whipping out their military. every few turns a few ships would spawn from thin air... and i know it was thin air thanks to the eyes of the universe.

Actually im not that close to the "breadline", i do very nicely for myself thank you... its more of the fact that it was billed when they said it wouldn't be and then I check my email for the reciept but it never came. peace phoenix you are the closest thing to a stardock rep. to at least give a reply which was the intent of post to try to grab someones attention. as far as sales or support at the support.com website its says my request is in the sales dept, but its been there a while.

Debug.err's are useful but without being told what you were doing at the time, they're not terribly meaningful. sorry, was in the heat of a battle when crashed. bout 4hrs in game. and in the middle of a fleet battle...no warning or freezing just CTD super fast.
