For missile pods, just look at the Tech Missile Batteries. The wedge could be done graphically, but wouldn't be able to effect gameplay (such as raming a Q ship). As for it actually happening, everyone seems to have their own pet mods. If you are really interested, start working on it yourself. I'd like to see what you come up with. But like I said, I have my own pet mod.
