Yes that is true as I said, to quote "But the pull would be so minor that it wouldn't affect you, so you experience the sensation of weightlessness." But my point is still valid, since weight is a measure of how hard gravity is pulling on you, in space you always weigh something because you are always being pulled on by something. Even a star BILLIONS of lightyears away is pulling on us right now on earth and astronauts in space, but the force of the pull is SO small that it has no noticeable

Added Note: If we have to discuss the physics of space then let me set ground rules. Here is the only rule. 1. The Internet is out of bounds, no searching Physics sights or Wikipedia. Only your own knowledge. (I just realized how hard that rule is going to be to enforce. [e digicons]:|[/e] Here is a quick fact I did learn in a Physics class back in high school. (not to prove any points just FYI) 1. Objects in space are not actually weightless. You could

ACK ANOTHER SPACE DEBATE THREAD! [e digicons]o_O[/e] These can get hairy. Yes, fighters might be useless when we start getting into space, but if they didn't use them in the game then I would think it would definitly be duller. I llike seeing all the fighters buzzing around in Sins and following them through the battle as they pass the big starships is AWESOME!

Man I play Counter Strike, Battlefield 2142, and Call of Duty 4 online all the time. Some people just get unneeded stress when they play RTS's online (raises hand). Playing FPS games online you only have to worry about what you are doing and how that fits in with what your team is doing. In RTS's you have to micro lots of guys and in Sins manage your empire all the while making sure you are helping your team and defending your borders from attack. FPS's are so much simpler to play online and

1. I thought about posting this on the Impulse forum but since there is only a General section I wasn't sure where to post. (I was looking for a Technical section) I will know next time. 2. Thanks for the tips, the problem was I wasn't being patient. That is what you get when you are stressed over school work and things that you think should take a few minutes take longer than you expect (my fault entirely). Thanks for the help guys, sorry for my lack of patience.

For some reason when I get to the very end of downloading the Beta for 1.1 and it starts verifying the download, fifteen minutes go by and nothing happens. How long does it take to verify a download? I had to redownload this update since I uninstalled and reinstalled sins since it was crashing a lot in game. I've attempted to redownload the beta using my college campus's internet, at night so no one else is on (in other words really really fast). Something is messing up and it is getting on m
the critism about when you attack u become a spectator and not a participant is such a perfect and true critic. go play a micro intensive game and then play this.
oooooo less stress in my life lol. [e digicons]^_^[/e] I know what you mean, but I kind of enjoy the lack of direct control in battles. Mainly cause I get more time to move through the fight and watch the ships do their things. It is what I wanted in EAW when I found out about the cinematic option. I

When you are in the menu directly after choosing which type of map you want that shows all the players participating in the match you will notice a tab that says "random." Click that tab and it will show TEC, click again it shows Advent and once more to show Vasari. Of the list of players you are the top so just click the top "random" tab, you can also do this with the other AI's. So in a sense yes, you were looking right at the solution. Sins is a combination of 4x and RTS. So I can definitly see why not having a story can be a downer to some people. It was for me anyway. I WANT TO KNOW WHO/WHAT IS CHASING THE VASARI!! For games that are just completly 4x story is not needed. GalCiv has a campaign and I havn't even touched it yet, but Sins is different. You only have 3 races so the fact that we know only what the manual and into tells us has left me with a slight hollow feeling. And after playing several games as each race an

You need to research the Technology to travel between star systems in the non-military tech tree of each respective race. It should show a picture of a phase jump and a small star in the background. Note: after you research this tech you can only jump to other star systems from the star of a star system. So move your fleet to the star of whatever system they are in and then choose another star as there destination. They will then jump to that star in that solar system.

mmmmmm minefields. Thank goodness they are buffing up Defense. I hate having to run my fleet around everywhere trying to save my planets and it doesn't help that in random maps you don't get that many choke points. I had first read that Asteroid belts and fields could damage and destroy ships, but that turned out to be an error in informationn on the forums. So my response to the three expansions, I WANT THEM ALL! So is it confirmed that Stardock will be releasing all three expansions

LOL THAT WOULD BE HILARIOUS! *Fires 2 nukes at a planet, 6 minutes later takes planet and colonizes it, upgrading the planetary development* "Alright forward base established, the computer must have recolonized and redeveloped really quick. *Both of players own nukes slam into the planet killing the entire pop and destroying planet* "F@&%!"
