I've taken a lot of 'enemy' planets, and even a few friendlies, with influence starbases in DA. It might take a while, but if you're fighting a war on one front and you don't want to fight another one then it's a help. I removed the Drengin this way. Surrounded them entirely and influenced them down to one planet, which I then invaded. Of course, this was on normal difficulty. I was a custom race I call 'Solaran' by the way.

This is a great mod. I've installed it in Kyros (kryos?), minus the mod description xml of course, and it works. Didn't have time to build a proper ship, but at least I know I can now. Are you going to put other ship parts in it?

Will do that. I played a few turns last night without a problem, but it was just one or two turns before going to bed. Well, I just had to... It could be an over-heating problem perhaps, cause it seem to occur when the computers been on for a while. Anyway, if it happens again I'll post the debug file.

Flickering & lock-up in DA in Bug Reports GalCiv2 Forums

I'm running a Sempron 1.6gb with 2gb ram and 256mb Nvidia 7600gs card and XP SP2. After playing a few turns of DA (sometimes not even that) the screen starts flickering and the program locks. I have to reset the computer to get out of it. This has only started recently because it worked fairly well before that. I've seen other threads where it's flickering on vista machines and the 8800 card, but nobody seems to have the same problem as this. I recently installed the

Jimboman the two mods should be compatible They are. I put your mod into the kryo directory and so far they appear to be working. Still playing a game and haven't started a new game, so no new ships yet, but the graphics look a little better.

I don't have the net at home, but what I do is download the fixes from SDC at work (I'm in an office by myself, which helps) and just copy the Galciv folder onto my ipod and take it home. I need to reinstall the sig for my home computer all the time (I've got a copy), but it's a solution.

Thanks for the info. I'll try that. I didn't need a credit-card to open my paypal account because I'm using a bank account, which I can keep track of better than a CC. Cash is so much more easier. I must have an aversion to bits of plastic!

Would like to get DA but... in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

As the title says, I'd love to get DA but I can't because of the payment system. I have a paypal account, but when I try to pay with it I'm asked for a credit-card. The whole reason I got paypal was so that I didn't need a credit-card! Looks like I'll have to miss out.
