Evil Stormbringer, you make me not want to reply to anyone's e-mails if this is what I get for personally responding to your e-mails which you sent to me and kryo rather than just e-mailing gc2bugs which is the correct procedure to follow. Well sorry Cari, you know I am not purposefully trying to piss you off... how do you think I feel. First, I have emailed about four debugs to gc2bugs... and have gotten no response other than a ticket number, nothing

Hey, look at that... it's been three hours now and still nothing. Go figure. I remember a reference that Brad made regarding new cars and the 'bugs' they have... and I agreed one hundred percent. The thing people missed was, that with your new car, if there's a problem... they fix it... FOR FREE... without you ever even having to pick up a wrench! Now how do you relate your two examples?
Okay Kryo, they are having the same memory write problem that I sent debugs to Cari for... her response was she couldn't figure out what was going on but it was in the 'bugtracker'. This has been a week. Obviously, it isn't my hardware or any of my settings, so WTF is going on? I would like some resolution on this. If you can't fix or find the problem, then how about setting my up with a CD or something? Again, THESE ARE THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT I AM HAVING... surely someone is working on t
I don't see any difference between the two categories. In fact, Stardock's procedure is counterproductive, at least in my situation, since the game in question doesn't seem to run right, to uninstall and reinstall seems to cause more issues at times than all of this is worth. Of course I am biased but that is only because I never seem to have a resolution to this game and it's 'problems'. Just when I get it to run, a problem arises. So how do you get a refund? If I buy a store bought, piracy pr
I will attempt to do this tonight Kryo. Thanks again. As an aside to this, any thoughts as to why we would be experiencing this Kryo? Seems strange that we are the only two (AFAIK) reporting this issue...
i liked the sarcasam whether it was pointed at me or evil ???
I had the same issues the past couple of days. Yes, I can confirm that if you are working with SDC offline it will show a purchase prompt next to the games as mentioned by Hollow Man. I'm not quite sure how this is harming anything but since you asked for other confirmations, here's mine.
There is a setting in the interface screen, IIRC, that allows you to select whether or not you want to remove functional components when upgrading. Also, I don't know whether this was an issue in your case or not but you should rename and upgraded ship design. The game should display a warning message prompting you to rename before saving... maybe this was where you went wrong? Hope this helps, but there are more informed people in here than myself. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc
I think he's a redundant little fraktard with no sense of humor whatsoever. My personal opinion is he has to be about fourteen, at most, and if he is older, how on Earth does he pass in school with such horrible grammar skills. His opinions, stories and general banter don't necessarily bother me, but the headache that I get after reading his posts/replies really irritates me. Bottom line, no, not funny. The very fact you posted that and not the bitter fl
We're still watching you. Yes, traumatize the little bugger first... then we can get on with the torture.
Cologmerate I think you meant to say 'conglomerate'?
Be thankful it was me responding and not Wheel! Gee guys, have I really lost my touch over these past few months?
I suppose in a sense, it's the ultimate challenge. On higher difficulties, it's definitely tech trading on for the AI and off for you, expect under extremely bad terms, but that isn't the choice you are supposed to be making when you turn tech trading on. It's BS is what it is. I should have the same chances to make the same trades the AI makes unto itself, yet I don't. This would be fine if the AI kept the techs to themselves and demanded the same from
Have your ship coast up and down your border and set it to attack anyone your at war with. But then that would imply that you have 'borders' in space, an idea that seems to have a lot of opposition in here. "How can you have borders when you're in space?" seemed to be the prevailing thought. I of course am not against borders so I think it would be a great idea... but then I would have to actually be able to play a complete game to really enjoy the feat
Tiny with no support or engines = Interceptor. Ahhh, these are what I name 'Widowmaker', for obvious reasons.
That sounds like a debug from DL, not DA. Note that DA makes its own in the GalCiv2\DarkAvatar folder. Regardless of what debug he pulled, his issue is the same as mine so if refreshing the XML isn't going to fix the issue, what will?
Perhaps there's an actual physical issue with your memory itself? Or it could be a bad disk sector too affecting virtual memory. I am open to anything Kryo, you know this, and I will give this a try as well, but shouldn't I have these same issues running something else as well? No other games crash, stutter, etc. No other programs have issues either. The only build that seemed to work was the first release of DA (I haven't gone back to DL... just can't
I have had no problems with GCII DA, crashing, or becomeing unplayable. I am using a celeron 1.2 processor, 1.5 meg memmory, and geforce 5700 256 graphics card, and I play large universe, with 9 opponents. I turn down some of the eye candy if I want to play a quick game, but If I want to get immersed into the game, it is high graphics, and zoom in close, and take my time. Exactly my point. There are those of you who have never had any issues and I am fa
Here's one. Since it seems that different users have different systems, duh, can we have a game or update that will work across the broad spectrum of user's machines? I didn't feel that my HP was that lacking to begin with, but people on this forum showed me otherwise. I went out and spent some loot to make my system 'more compatible' with this game (shouldn't it have been the other way around? Make the game run on the machine, not build the machine to run the game?). Now I fully expect to get
Well, GC2 doesn't have a late-game killing memory leak like Bot No, it just seems to have issues right around the beginning and the middle... kind of makes it pointless to say there is no memory leak at the end game because you can't get to the end game! As you can tell, I am getting a little more than pissed with regards to the issues this game has.
Here's one better as far as the movies go... my wife and I frequent the drive ins during the summer (the hell with those spring/fall shows... too cold at night) and it never fails to amaze me to see a minivan pull in to watch what should be a 'kids' movie... only to see the parents in the front, dazed from watching Cars, while the kids are in the back watching Spongebob on the rear DVD system... for the entire evening. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Mad.gif" border=0 align
The thing you saw before but couldn't find is most likely going into SDC's options and clicking the Refresh XML button in the internet section--give that a try. Yes Kryo, this was what I saw and couldn't remember where to find it. I will give it a try when I get home. Once again, you are the best of the best! Thanks Kryo.
The "1984 live" conspiracy theroys. i mean really, London puts "talking" security cameras that can only say "Do not cross yet" or "Step away from the curb" and people say "Big Brother isn't just watching, he's barking orders, too. You seem to miss the point. With all the surveillance going on, especially in England, the main question that arises is "who is watching the people watching you?", which seems valid enough considering that it is an invasion o
Okay, I know I saw a post in here regarding what to do when SDC doesn't show the newest update for DA, but I can't find it. Furthermore, my issue is quite the opposite. I uninstalled everything at home yesterday to see if a reinstall would fix my CTD issues. I still had the archives from the original versions so that is what I installed. Games played fine, went to SDC to update... and it comes up that DA is already updated to v1.50x.072. Now I know my DA game is not updated yet, as I just reins
AMD Athlon 64 3800+ is a 2.4 GHz single core processor This is true, however the 3800+ can be overclocked to around 3.5 Ghz if I remember the specs correctly. I also believe the 3800 runs around 2.2 Ghz in normal operations. Cool and quiet takes it down to around 933 mhz while the system isn't demanding too much from it. Not that any of this helps you, just random info on your processor.
