Incidentally, I was attempting to register over at the Galactic Core, since 8:30 am and still haven't received an activation email. Now I am not sure how long the response time is, but I resubmitted four times throughout the course of today to no avail. No email response whatsoever to activate my account (and yes, all spam filters are off just in case). Anyone reading know what gives?

If you usually play pure custom races and haven't checked out how the points are different in DA for the stock races, you might want to do so. I've checked the numbers out and do agree that they aren't comparable in their values but I will still continue to customize my own... it's just more fun that way IMO. Seriously though, they are out of whack and d
The only reason to be an actual "custom race" is to get to (exactly) pick your starting techs, but its rarely worth passing up the native race packages. As a person who ALWAYS plays as a custom race I have to weigh in on this comment. You may be right that "it's rarely worth passing up the natives" to take on a custom race but therein lies the 'challenge' of being your own race. I don't put nearly the amount of thought that some of you guys do when it c
Welcome aboard from me as well Mistralok! As G.W. assumed, we are looking for members who 'just want to have a good time'. I should be posting my first game tonight or tomorrow. Yeah, I had to break down and get dial up again so I am hoping if I at least start a Meta game this weekend and do the old save/swap/submit thing I should be able to FINALLY get a Metaverse game logged. I myself am still trying to 'decipher' what all the
But this semi-manifesto in posts 1 & 2 leaves me wondering if I should go independent or get crazy and start the Empire of the Huddled Masses or something. I thought the Empire of Standards was about mocking the "scoring machines" by showing that score-scoffers can keep up if we feel like it. This sounds like an invitation to a flame war, and I'm afraid I might already be "the enemy" given my collusion with Those Who Are Posting Voluminously About the Metaverse. <
Well I guess I will be the first to reply in here so here's my two cents... aimed towards Wheeloffire of course. Since you've been gone there has been a great 'uproar' with regards to the Metaverse and the forming of a 'council' of a sort that from what I've gathered is meant to 'represent' various factions/voices throughout the Metaverse. I'm not sure if you have gone to the OP and read through the 'vast' amount of text (more closely resembling 'legalese' if you ask me)but if you have, I
Plus the fact that you have to register to get updates is a pretty good hook, especially when the updates are as valuable as Stardock's tend to be. Amen to that one G.W.
I joined the Empire of Standards and have been caught in public "defending" you Didn't realize you had joined us G.W.! Glad to 'hear' it. And Wheeloffire it is great to see you back in here. I was beginning to think I'd been abandoned. As you probably already saw, the Metaverse has been getting some sorely lacking attention. I tried to nominate you into the panel, but at least we have a rep. Oh, incidentally, my area now has hi-speed internet available
AAAAAARRRGH!!! There's a pirate in here! Hoist the sails... er, umm, charge the ion drives, yeah, that's what it is...?
and you haven't explained why the planets mars and pluto are warming up too I doubt that my 'explanation' would hold much worth, but from what I've read by astronomers and scientists who like to think 'outside of the box' they believe that our solar system is in constant synch with 'itself'. Events happening on other planets are somehow related to events that occur here and vice versa. To grasp these new and exciting concepts one has to pretty much for
[quote]the state of utah used to have a tropical rain forest in it the state of utah area has never been near the tropics [Lieutenant] [Custom] [Over 100 Battles] [Neutral] [Challenging] [/quote] There are lots of places throughout the world that were very different in climate than they are now. This was mainly due to periodic crust shifts/pole shifts which happened roughly 120,000 years apart... I believe there were three or four such events that archaeologists/geographers hav
DA was released to pre orderers early The 'complete and final' build or is it still considered a beta? Oh, I almost forgot to add... Downloaded from work and installed Monday night and all I can say is wow guys! After all I've went through for this game (flash drives;hard drive enclosures;graphics card;psu)I can say without a doubt that it was all worth the effort. Amazing expansion (hell, you might as well just say 'game')and it looks beautif
man is not couseing climate change Are you insane man!?! Surely you don't believe what you said and I missed something from an earlier comment, right? I mean, if you don't think that we are 'causing' global warming... sheesh! All I can say is you are oh so lucky that I am practicing my mantra and trying to be a 'good boy'. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2
Dogs *eat* cat turds with delight. You noticed that also G.W.? Two of my dogs just love those little stinky turds to death... and I just can't figure out why! I mean the smell alone should be enough, but they act like it is 'doggy caviar', practically killing themselves to get at what I thought was a strategically placed litter box. The most baffling part is that they don't seem to get sick.
Loved that one Mistralok. Had to run a few copies off for myself and some co-workers.
My take on this is no, violence in video games does not bother me. Hell, Grand Theft Auto will always be my all time favorite, because of the violence of course. There's nothing better than letting off some steam after a long day at work. I figure if someone is actually weak minded enough to say that a video game or movie or song made them do what they did... then maybe there is something to all of that 'Manchurian Candidate' type talk. I like a good game period. It doesn't matter if it's
IMO, they chose not to take the fight into Iraq b/c they understood what it means to kick over an anthill with bare feet and then stand in it. That was a good example there G.W. but I will still stick to my belief that there was a lot more to it, almost all of which we will never know. Espionage is of course the business of deceit... so how coul
Well put Jarl and my attitude is the same as yours about this. Regardless, bitching about it won't do any of us any good so if it means a little more on my part to play one of the best games ever, you know damn well I will still be in line.
I mean how can you deal with this kind of person aside from a bullet or a serious amount of drugs?? All I can say is LOL. That was a good one Mystikmind. Believe me, I also understand what you mean about fanaticism. Yes it is truly impossible to sway these 'people' once they have totally closed their mind to anything else but what they beli
all of the muslims in direct conflict with isreal are arabs Danielost, I think you need to brush up a little bit on your history. When Israel was 'created' even though it angered many 'muslims/arabs' the Palestinians did in fact accept the Jews alongside themselves, in THEIR OWN country. The established borders were not good enough for the Zioni
Put that together with my typing speed, love of ornate words, and well, I don't always communicate as well as I'd like I understand completely. To speak eloquently whilst typing is very difficult. Couple this with being at work (as I am when I'm on here) and the occasional outbreak of excitement over a topic or reply... <img src="http://images.s
If our species is to survive our steadily growing powers of destruction, we *must* learn to work around our tendency to think in us-them terms.[/quote] I agree with this statement but it is very unrealistic to think (hope maybe, but not think) that 'we' could ever look at each other in this way, as one big family, despite color, creed, or gender. There will
However the words 'destruction' and 'fanatics' is a perfect marriage. So considering that, i think israel was justified in its actions. Yes, I guess they were considering they are definitely 'fanatics' and only really know how to get things done via destruction. Furthermore, all of this talk regarding Iraq is senseless considering th
Perhaps it doesn't for you but it most certainly does for me. I'm proud to hate Microsoft. I despise Microsoft more than Republicans despise Hillary Clinton. I loathe Microsoft even more than Democrats loathe Bush. It is rare that I get to see you so 'passionate' about something Mumblefratz, especially this. Your rant was definitely well thought
