Here's one related to this. In my shipyard there are hull's of all sizes that appear to be a 'square' with attachment points literally everywhere. Is this a bug or a sort of 'generic' hull that can be made using the accessories? I didn't read anything about them being in the game, but I could've missed something. Anyone know what I'm speaking of?

But I plan to do some extensive testing of that money production, as I don't know how much the formulas have changed. At a first glance it looks like they didn't much. I'd be interested to read what you find out Iztok. Like I stated elsewhere, even playing on 'normal' I am getting my ass kicked, and so far I can only see my economy as being the deciding factor on my 'ass-kickyness' so to speak. You need to pick a default character on the 'Manage my Characters' page on the meta Thanks again Kryo. I see I have a 'wounded in action' medal on my character profile... but nothing in here. Falcon57, I tried your 'idea' or one similar to it with regards to the econ starbases. In my last SIX games, gigantic gal/normal diff/nine opps w/mega events off, every civ, regardless of alignment (even those at war with eachother) would seem to 'drop everything' just to declare war on me. You just have to watch the 'free gift' because if your economy can't handle it, you will find yourself swamped with maintenance fees. It's a good tactic to use against the computer if you wish to destroy their economy... just give them a crap load of ships with a high maintenance and presto... instant market crash!

Okay, I just started my first Metaverse game, or at least I believe I did. Started up DA, hit the Meta tab, picked my character and started a game. Not a bad idea but how about this version... make the 'academy' a one time build per civ (once reaching the required tech of course)and then allow a certain number of ships, i.e.: four tiny, two small, two med, etc., all the way up to the biggies to be put into a fleet designated 'legendary' or something to that effect. The fleet itself would gain combat/defense bonuses and the fleet's flagship could have some sort of 'special' ability, endowed only to itself. Kind of like an elite fleet, where

By the time my ships have the range to get to other planets they're already taken. And Rataan, I already do that. But when it take hundreds of weeks to research the colonization techs it kinda' screws over anything else you want to do. There are a few differences but the main thing is that the Gold Edition has both the Dread Lords (GC2) as well as the DA Expansion (plus I believe you get a coupon for a 10.00 rebate if you already own GC2 DL. The expansion is just that, the expansion. As far as game 'differences' between the two, I don't believe there are any. So if you already have GC2 DL and only want the expansion, then just buy that. Or, make a 'total' purchase of both games and get 10 bucks back for your troubles. <i

Not sure what issues you are having but I just tried running off a few random pages, just to see, and everything worked fine. Okay, I bought a hard drive enclosure and put the old 40GB drive from my old HP into it and did the old quick format on it. So far, so good. Now when I bring it in to work and hook up here (home uses XP, work uses 2000)I have some issues regarding drive letter.
