Still never hurts to let him know he did some sweet work
Evil Stormbringer
I'm confused now: is this thread for real? Yes, it's for real. Just doing a little creative astrophysics, that's all.
Here's mine although I haven't tried it past the Normal diff setting. In the beginning, I purchase colony ships until I am almost out of money, usually only after three ships. Then I finance a few more. I set my research to 100% and go on a learning spree. After a couple dozen turns I buy whatever improvements I may need to make a given planet more effective. During this time I find that I usually have to finance quite a bit, but then I refuse to trade for techs or ships (just my preference). By
Things for GCIII? How about CARRIERS for one (everyone knows my take on them). How about NO UPDATES. Not that I don't like additional content, especially for free, but seriously, this seems to have caused more problems than it was worth. Since the game is moddable, players who want to change things or think that things need changed (as there is a big difference between the two) can do so themselves. If the devs feel that there are enough requests or ideas from us players, they can make an expans
In my last game I walked away with 780,000 BC in the bank and a 3,750 BC per week income. I don't know guys, I'm bringing in almost 24k a week, have a little over 4mil in my treasury, and am running at a 72% approval(with taxes at 66%). All military spending at this point. Diff setting one before Normal. Am I exploiting something and not realizin
I like carriers too, but i dont think it will ever work in such a way that other ship classes would still be usefull Then why does our Navy commission different models of ships? Something weird in the air today.
lasers and beams, DON'T EXIST ( well exept for laser pointers and such), Then what do our armed forces have mounted on their tanks over in Iraq? Silly one.
In order to produce the vibration in the first place there must be a transfer of energy, which is imparted by you swinging the mallet and the mallet striking an object. It has everything to do with energy. Thank you very much. That was all I was saying. Wow, sometimes it's just too simple.
Thanks for the response Kryo. Oh, and in case you haven't heard it for a while, YOUR HULL MOD RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Think I'm gonna post that one every week.
I know I shouldn't ask this but I have to just to tempt fate. My game has been going great for awhile now and I really shouldn't piss with it. But let's say I uninstalled everything GCII related and then reinstall the game, v1.2 on a retail purchased CD without going to the websites and downloading any updates. Does anyone know what I am going to be missing out on or actually ahead of the curve on with respects to gameplay. I've read some threads dealing with the changes and what they were, sort
Collapsed stars generate black holes. Collapsed stars are matter. My left foot is also matter. Therefore my left food can generate black holes. You've never witnessed my left foot generating black holes, because none of you have witnessed my feet. But Tesla witnessed my feet." Dude, I am LMAO so hard right now, at work, even co workers who read
5 turns later my homeworld is on the verge of rebellion (52% approval) and the rest are around 68% (not bad really.) Are the skull and crossbones showing up over the planet or are you assuming that the population is going to revolt? Also, you didn't say the difficulty. And what government are you running with. I tend to keep the initial gov. eve
the anatomy of a sound wave is molecules vibrating and 'hitting' other molecules. Okay then, what is making them vibrate? Hmm? What was that? LOL. This is way too deep for in here so forgive me, but I love the responses. I've been taught this (and yes, it does seem like a contradiction): Energy is everything. Don't define it. Just accept it. Ener
Stormbringer, sound is vibration through a medium Ahhh, yes, which came first, the chicken or the egg. Okay, let me get this straight. Vibrations are the result of the wave hitting said molecules. Sound is sound is sound. If there is nothing there to resonate the waves hitting it, then there could be no "vibration" per se. But you cannot say that
Are you basicly saying "Please make me spend money on expansions, free patchs are geh"? Because the only reason I did not pirate this game is because of the updates. No, I am saying to make sure what the devs want to add is playtested "enough" to work out MOST of the bugs prior to letting general users download and play. I realize that alot of th
this is raistlin36 who knows everything about anything that has to do with space battle. I am willing to take this as gospel, for the moment! LOL
Seeing the laughable mass driver weapons slowly float to their target was enough to make me shut it off for good. I'm not sure but aren't the mass driver weapons actually discharging anti-matter of sorts? And if they are, then that would explain why you aren't getting breakneck speed projectiles flying through space. Anti matter can plod along ta
You cannot have sonic WAVE weapons in the VACUUM of space. Electrical discharge is all throughout the universe thus any "wave" can be transmitted through space. I am no physicist but I have read enough to know that any "wave" can travel through space. Just because you don't hear it doesn't mean that it isn't there. Besides, this is a game, not a
I've waited long enough for people to get the chance to post regarding this one and all I can say is, let the game be, PLEASE. Updates are cool and the devs taking the time to listen to what we want is awesome. But enough is enough. I buy a game to play it. If I don't like it, oh well. If I do like it, great. The point is the game is what it is. The freedom to mod is awesome I suppose, even though I don't like to do it myself. If those of you who bought the game thought "gee, they should have ad
It depends. If I just designed a new ship or two I like to check them out in action even though it isn't that amazing of a sight. After I've been playing for a few hours however if it is just another uneventful encounter, I skip the battle view in favor of a quick decision. Same when invading, not that there is ever really much to see of interest on the planet invasion screen.
I would like to have boarding parties Second that, or third, whatever. Gimme boarding parties, yeah!
Beam weapons encompass anything energy related, period. Pulse weapons are just that, beam weapons. I've heard some people say that sonic weapons are not beam, but the debate is open since both "energy" and "sonics" travel in waves. Now to have a Sonic Death Scream Ray?, hmmmm. But would it be beam or something entirely different in classification.
Thanks also damn that was a cool item the abilty to play mp3's i hate how just cuz some peopel cant fig out how to use it the ruin it for the rest of us. Yeah, kinda like some people who mangle the English language and cause literate people to develop embolisms. Is it too difficult to turn on the radio anymore?
WTF? I just caught this thread. Lemme get this straight. You can build trade freighters that are armed? Did I see that right? Wow. That would add something totally different to my strategies,,,!
I have never even had a civ that did not have a single ship let alone them attacking me with nothing! By saying that the AI didn't have a single ship, I meant of the attack or transport variety. Yes, they have freighters and survey/scout ships but I am saying that war is declared and my opponent doesn't have any attack vessels with which to wage
