No preformance gain for me, Atlantis map runs at 5-6 simspeed on average, Mines on 10-11 C2D E6400 (2.1 ghz) 4 Gb ram Geforce 8800 GTX All drivers fully updated.

I would love to play more, but having played twice recently with the latest beta 1A, the slowdowns mid-lategame becomes too much :(. I only played twice on beta 1 but it ran beautifully with no slowdowns at all.

Guys/Gals, in my experimentation, its not the fault of Win XP, rather its that Corparate Machine does not like computers with More than 1 core. I've installed and played it on 3 Pentium 4s with XP, all is well. However when i tried it on 2 intel dual cores and a quad core computer(all with Win XP), i simply get all the above problems. Starting with compatability does not work, neither with just forcing it to run on 1 core as you can only adjust that once the game is started. So

Disagree. While it is easy to say its the fault's of peoples machines, why were there no minidumps in version 1.02 back at release when there were thousands of people playing the game online? Its something thats introduced in the game in version 1.03 or 1.04 that started causing the minidump problem. A good indicator is to look at the online population playing. Its ~ 100-150 now where as at release and for months after it before the minidump problem it was ~1000-2500.

Minidumps still exist, i got them 4 out of 10 games. Average game time was 1 and half hours before the dump hit.

Moral of the story, a FFA is a FFA, don't go into the game expecting fun things to happen, instead expect the worst to happen. I.E. in a 8 player ffa, having 7 people team up on you and kill you for a easy win for their stats. If you want to avoid this sort of thing, join a TEAM GAME with locked teams. I regularly host Team Games for people who like a constant team and not having to watch their ally/allies for signs of deception. Third option is to host/join a 'True' FFA, this

They have Dark fleet to balance it out :p . Normal strat is to stun the entire enemy fleet and then jump in your Dark fleet which should be HUGE in size and wipe them all out.

Hi Demonic, giving Company of Heroes a Rest? ;) Planet income depends on type of planet. You usually start on a Terran planet which is the best, the other types of planets do not support as large a population as a Terran one. Upgrading infrastructure will increse population and in turn increase income. Also if you are TEC you can upgrade the max population Terran, Desert and Ice planets can support. I am not too sure about the other two races/ Pirates always raid the closest
