I'm so glad you guys are still enjoying this game. You made my day.
Well it is the best version of the game. Sorcerer king just doesn't do it for me.

Until they fix it, you really have to move you guys carefully to minimize the chance. If that currently hero in the front row was one square down and to the left there would be a path through your forces and it is less likely to happen. Less likely but not impossible, I think the wolves have completely blocked the path and now one of the wolves in the back can't get to whoever he has targeted. If you play to keep a path open as much as possible, you can limit the bug to
I second Go4Celerity. These bugs are big on my hit list. I don't know how to reproduce the Insufficient Space Bug but the Battle Pathing is easy enough. If you have units that the AI can't get to, they will eventually try anyway. At least that is how it seems. Oh and awesome on Star Dock that they are doing anything for this game. It is my favorite of the series and I am so happy to see that it can still get some love.
OK so, I did try to search for this in other posts first but my search-foo just wasn't good enough if they exist. I have a small set of issues with GCIII ship designer that are really baffling in that they are really simple polish points I would have figured would have been fixed a long time ago. 1) A turn off auto save of my own ships option. In GCII you could do this. It is fine to save a blank ship but I don't want to save all of the ships with functiona
I can confirm that today's update fixed the issue and all seems well. Thank you very much.
There is a thread regarding this here: https://forums.galciv3.com/464280/page/1/#replies They know what the issue is and are making a fix for it.
Here are my prefs.ini https://www.dropbox.com/s/diujps0s2fyspge/Prefs.ini?dl=0 I re-validated local content and had 1 failure this time. Tried again, all files are fine.
I figured I would try a new game to see if it made a difference... I found a new bug. It seems that if you have a shipyard right next to asteroids so that the ships are ejected into them, you cannot control the ship. I have the Starbase4.fxo file. I am verifying integrity as we speak. Guessing from the general gist of how this is going, assuming the integrity is fine would you want me to delete local content and redownload? 2 file failed to validate. I don't know if there is any way to know which ones... I tried the game again but the issue isn't resolved. I don't see any way to verify those 2 files were replaced like the steam said.
I already have a link to my debug.err above. I am running full screen 1920X1080. I tried this: " Please try deleting (or moving to a backup folder) the Atlas.dxatlas file in your /Galactic Civilizations III/Screens/Atlas folder. Then restart the game." It didn't work.
I will add that I did try the previous update and it worked fine there, so it is definitely something new in this one.
One screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rjakwvm3ot41oht/Screenshot%202015-05-01%2022.29.17.png?dl=0 It really is just the background image.
I have the same as well. If I click where the buttons should be I can get something built, but as I can't see what I am clicking, my mining starbase turned into a cultural one. I am running a MSI Gaming Laptop using the Nvidia Geforce video card. I am going to check for latest drivers though mine aren't that old. I will update this post with more system information as I look things up. GPU: GeForce GTX 780M CPU: Intel Core i7-4700MQ CPU @
When you are clicking on parts (Is it alt-click or shift-click or ctrl-click I am not sure as I just try them until it works.) the parts in the tray at the bottom will all show selected. So if you are trying to group 3 parts, they will all have the yellow braces around them. That is how you know you are doing it right. I have started just selecting them from down there instead of on the model, not that it makes much difference, it is just easier for me. After you do
Success! Yay! Ok, I got it working. So it isn't enough to group into a part you have to export it as a part and then do manual symmetry. After that I still had trouble because I couldn't find the parts, it seems they don't get icons even though the game folder has a PNG of the part for I assume that purpose. I finally found the part after turning on show parts from other styles and noticed blank holes in the list. This has been as much fun as gett
I am still not getting the effect I wanted. I must be blind. Screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vzvppalzbaibcsw/Screenshot%202015-04-26%2016.57.35.png?dl=0 I have a central hub and I have a relatively simple rotating section that I have grouped. It consists of just 4 parts, just enough to prove the concept. I have exclud
Yep, you would think that would work, but no same difference.
Ok, so I haven't been playing this game since a few hours in Beta 1. At that time I had issues with the ship designer and since everything was up in the air I didn't worry too much about it. Now we are coming up on release and I find I can't make ships nearly as well as I could in GC2. My ships follow a sci-fi pattern. (Star Carrier series) This requires that the ships are long with a shield cap at one end and a rotating section behind it. (See my Avatar
A simple way to do stealth is something like -1 to that ships detected range. With more advanced techs giving a -2 and then a -3 to detected range. If your ships detection range is 3 hexes you will not see the -3 stealth ship unless you attempt to enter its hex. Real life stealth planes are not invisible, they are just harder to detect. A stealth module would have to be expensive and can only be placed on a ship once. (Once you optimize the outside of the ship you ar
Hello guys, I am fairly new at LH having not really played the game since the first elemental. I did try to search for this, I am sure it came up before but I think my google foo just wasn't good enough. Simple question, sometimes when my hero defeats a monster s/he will move over the square but not pickup the underlying goodie hut. In order to pick up the hut the only way I know to do it is to move off and come back on. After a while this is a bit annoyi
My video card is a Gforce GTX 780M and the driver is 327.02. The integrated video card is Intel HD Graphics 4600 and its driver is 10.18.10.3621 I updated both drivers to the latest to try to fix this issue when Alpha 3 first came out. I don't know what the old drivers were. This issue is new to Alpha 3 and Alpha 2 worked fine. I have tested the game using both video cards.
It sounds like the fonts are not showing up in game. Have you tried this... https://forums.galciv3.com/452708/page/1/ I'm not saying it would fix your problem. But I don't think it would hurt to try to re-install the fonts.
That looked promising but unfortunately it didn't help. I tried twice, once I ran the executable as administrator just to be sure. I very muc
Yes it does persist after a re-install. I had steam delete local content first and then re-downloaded.
After Patch 1 for alpha 3, this issue still persists. Some feedback would be nice, did you guys see this? Is it something with my install?
Ok, so I updated my drivers but it didn't make a difference. My windows was already up to date. I got a dropbox so that I could show you what I was seeing. The game didn't crash and seemed normal as far as I can tell. Here is the debug.err https://www.dropbox.com/s/1
