How is distant worlds btw? The screenshots of the game scare the crap out of me.

/facepalm Don't buy it if you don't agree with Stardock's "sneaky tactics". I for one will enjoy the next GalCiv3.
Piccu
Small character in a remote part of a single page doesn't normally fall under the definition of "clearly". Also under the FAQ section there's this question Q: Will it have any copy protection? A:No. Unless you consider requiring a user account copy protection (which we do require as it’s necessary to allow users to be able to re-download the entire game and receive updates and support).
They will be sending more info on star naming later.
From the preorder page. * Star names subject to Stardock approval; no vulgar or inappropriate names allowed. Star name submission will be through www.galciv3.com at a later date. All game code will be delivered through Steam when available. *** Oh BTW typo on the website. Should be codes not code.
It's a preorder. It's not available. Alpha will be coming out sometime this winter.
I was watching at work. Watched it 5 times without sound. Just now seen it with sound.
hehe isn't he an x-lawyer. Isn't "being an asshole" required? I donno I prob won't buy SD2 but I still don't feel I wasted money buying it. Pricing isnt black and white. Just because it is a sequel does not mean it's a $60 game. An expac is also not required to be 39.99. It's just pricing models that have worked in the past. If it doesnt sell at whatever price they will decide he wont make money. I'm pretty sure he knows that.
haha I preordered before they finished uploading the website to the server this morning.
Eh I liked StarDrive. It was rough but I think I think as a proof of concept it worked. I think it only had 1 programmer though. Last I checked he is still releasing updates for it. I played the hell out of it when it came out. Not because it had the deepest mechanics. I thought it was fun. Just had WAY too much hype and expectations. Generally if I see a game is going to be earth shattering, some sites said this game would change 4x forever, then I lower my expectations to be safe.
DO NOT go with any DRM(aside from steam, as people can get over that), as that is the main reason for most piracy(which gets more DRM added, causing more piracy.).
No worries historically Stardock has always been against DRM. Also DRM is a completely abused term. DRM is good. DRM that forces the legitimate players through headache is a b#**#$t. I've been a fan of Stardock because of their r
Umm Gal Civ 2 and finite tiles too. 16x16(?) tiled sectors arranged onto the map. With hexes you can expand as large as you want. Civ5 maps were small mainly because of hardware limitations. For tile based games hexes are much better than squares. Squares systems are generally used in computer games because they are easier to program. Which I'm speaking from the point of view of someone trying to code his own hex based game. Anyways, movement and range are better handled in
opening BIOS is usually not dangerous, unless you go changing the settings regarding the drive controllers( and if you have done this then reseting the bios back to 'default' will often fix it, and to access the bios settings it is often the 'f2', 'f11', 'f12' or delete keys during the memory testing or right after switching on ( and apparently some w8 machines can even access bios settings from inside windo
Quoting Alstein, reply 1 1) I forgot how I did it exactly, but it's doable, I think it's in the options when you enter BIOS. Sorry, I really need some sort of help, I'm not even sure I know what BIOS is, but isn't opening it dangerous, like messing with some .ini file in the important sectors of your computer?
My recommendation is check with ASUS or take it to som
Yes they will attack. It's not too common but they have wiped out my towns in past games. Generally though a good city loc is a good city loc. Just be ready to defend it.
No work getting done today. 5 hours to go
I got PM'd about this from other poster. Just to clarify the game is not available. I saw the serial number on stardock but this is not the same as the steam key. Hopefully there is no confusion. I was a bit wired this morning from the news.
Ok thanks
Will there be Steam Workshop support. I know it's early but any news for modders? Sorry I have a serious case of nerd chills right now I think I need to go home.
Nothing wrong with asking. I listened to a Podcast (3 moves ahead or Polycast) where Brad explained the advantages of 64 bit processors and how 32bit processors was a huge limitation for them. By forcing the hardware upgrades they may alienate some people but they will be able to deliver a much better game in the long run. According his explanation the reason why AI suffers in many 4x games is not because they are poorly designed but because of the limitations of the hardware they have to sup
I think as long as it's a 64 bit processor you will be ok. It's fairly new tech. Ram...well I'll go out on a limb and say try to get 4gb at minimum but strongly suggest 8gb. No rush you ahve time to slowly build up your system :D
From the FAQ Q: What are the requirements to run Galactic Civilizations III? A: It will require a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or 8 along with a DirectX 10 or 11 compatible video card. There will be no 32-bit version. Most PC gamers in 2013 have this kind of hardware, and it allows us to create the best game possible for the majority of our customers. Q: Why are you requiring 64-bit? A: We want Galactic Civilizations III, and future expansio
Umm we sorta went to the site before it was officially announced. When I first went to the site today the page was there but no images. :D
oh cool its working now the link was broke earlier.
After preordering you get the steam key. It's available for steam only.
