Spell Research isnt in this game. When you get the right combination of spell skills. Once you meet all the requirements you gain the spells. Check the heir-(whatever the encyclopedia thing is) for the spell requirements.

This Empire NPC Champion Narthyssa doesnt do anything. She is armed with a bow and her AI has her run in my face then stand there while I beat the crap out of her and take her bow.
Strong start. I got in a fight with the gf about this game already which is a good sign for you...bad for me lol. I've noticed some graphical glitches and few crashes. I'm keeping my err logs and such in sep folders I'll post them when I figure out how lol

Some things that work for me: Disable all settings to do a simple compatibility test. Even things like VSYNC and fullscreen mode (I'm seeing more and more games right now that have crashes related to fullscreen mode then anything. Right click the start icon and run as admin. Reinstall the game Uninstall the game and reinstall in a different folder then program files.
Ugh what is wrong with fullscreen mode these days I'm assuming its a DirectX issue. My game just crashed while viewing the forums lol.
Marlowwe I like your avatar I used to have Crusader No Regret. I got it on Christmas the year it came out and was upset that all the music in the game was Christmas music. I didnt find out until later that it checked your system time and if it was Christmas day it would play Christmas music. That game was so epic.

Personally on the multi-player topic I'm fine if it is not even in the game. I prefer the AI be developed to the point that it was in GalCiv2 and could beat you down without cheating. Although I sorta understand the complexities since there are a lot more complexities on a world based game vs a space based game. Couple things I hope to see at some point. What's on the DLC. Wasn't there suppose to be a campaign with this book. I just found out I can download the DLC with the kindle version. I thought I was out of luck. I see the characters but nothing else.
