Nope you're not missing ANYTHING! As a homeschool mom of 7, as well as a Christian, are kids are indeed being taught to wait. And even if one wasn't a Christian - why encourage your kids to catch all kinds of diseases, become parents as teens and develope emotional relationships they are too immature to handle - not to mention a precurser to divorce.
