yes, I am. Once Neilo upgrades to the full service site, I will be expanding the OG section considerably. I think a small part of me will always be truly evil and a tyrant, and I've come to think of most of the tyrants as friends. I don't plan on burning bridges, just taking a different road.

a ZYW is shorthand for a zero year win, but a particular type of ZYW is what is generally being discussed. It is a conquest victory using certain strategies to quickly decimate the enemy for quick AltMeta points and adding Bling (medals) to your profiles. They are not generally as good for raising through the actual MV ranks.

so it seems that I haven't made fun of you in a while KP. Luckily for you, its too early in the morning for me to be witty. On a different note...and kinda sad too in a way...I have formally broken ties with the Tyranny of Evil so that I can focus solely on the Olympian Gods. They will always be my comrades in arms, but I couldn't continue to walk the Path of Evil. Looks like I have some work to accomplish this summer.

To the diabolical thugs and overlords that I have called friends for almost the past year, As of this morning, I have moved the last of my characters from the Tyranny of Evil into the Olympian Gods. I have decided, after lots of thinking, that I can no longer be torn between two empires and had to go with what I felt was right for me. That being said, I have no intentions of not saying hi or anything, and Neilo has set up my own private forum on the ToE site which I can now fo

I'm sure we've all noticed the plethora of new empires that have cropped up, and all the calls for the "destruction" of the Kzinti Empire and the other "dead empires"; and finally, the calls for an alliance or unification to work toward this goal. In the past, I had entertained notions of joining with a particular empire to compete against the top tier but as time has gone on, I have felt less inclined to do so. I am all for growing and increasing the OG, but not at the cost of

Episode Three: New Beginnings, Old Wounds The sleek goose-like hull of the 'Cerulean One' glided gracefully past the large rocky world that briefly eclipsed the shining blue-green marble ahead of them. "Captain, the Class Eleven world is directly ahead sir." "Bring it on screen." and Captain Morave turned to President Hamilton. "Madam President, I would like to let you be the first to set eyes on our new home." With that the

We hear your plea, but can only offer refuge on our own Mountain. You may join, and be safe from the troubles of the world, if only for a short time, or continue to turn from the gods and seek solace elsewhere. In any case, may the blessings of the gods go with you.

As a side note, it seems that an awful lot of small new empires has cropped out over the last month or so; my guess is partly due to SoaSE crossover, but who can say for sure. Though as quickly as they have appeared, they have also disbanded. Go figure. Anyhow, we're hanging in there for being as small as we are, and we've gained a few here and there. Won't be too long before I can really turn my attention back to this.

Episode Two: In Memoriam "Close that valve off! Get those fire crews over here! And get the injured down to the medical bay!" shouted Captain Morave as he ran across his bridge to where the Vice President had collapsed. "Madam Vice President, can you hear me? Are you alright?" he said as he checked her for serious injury. Stirring slightly, Jacquelyn Hamilton, Vice President of the Cerulean Union, grunted and propped herself up on her left arm.

There were changes made about the time of DA 1.6 that altered how bonus tiles were distributed, and then I think they tweaked it again toward the end of the 1.7s build. Those would probably be the best places to start KP. I seem to recall that its a set amount of bonuses percentages per map that are distributed by map size, number of tiles, worlds that are higher than Class 5? I think (you won't get them on lower worlds), supposedly Luck ability, and then a certain random factor. <

thanks Eidolon and KP. It took me about the weekend to flesh out the basic history and character connections, of which obviously only a very small portion has been shown. What gets a little harder is playing the game concurrently and letting the story unfold before me and then going back and writing those events into the overall storyline. The nice thing about that, is that it allows a certain freshness and uncertainty...tension if you will, to be infused into the story and pl

Since Rhea itself (though its political implications may appear throughout the story line) will not appear again... it was a semi-autonomous planet that was part of the eight primary worlds, and numerous moon and asteroid colonies/stations that made up the Cerulean Union. Rhea is Earth-like but more similar to the Western United States than the vast green forests and fertile plains found on Cerulean Prime. As such, Rhea, grossly overpopulated, often needed food, water, and other suppl

LOL, in general, the Mini Events (such as Economic Prosperity) are good enough and strong enough to allow for players to compete with the AI. That being said, in general, Mega Events are ONLY suggested for veteran players or players that specifically seek a challenging game. I strongly suggest turning them off at start up if you are even remotely concerned about being able to deal with them. Also, as a final word on it, there are certain triggers for the Mega Events....turtling in a corner (m

Why hello again Saruke, I suppose I get to just find and answer all your posts today :D Well, admittedly, TA's AI is still in development (it IS a Beta after all) and so there are some glitches to be had, but also you are playing on Normal, which does not have all the algorithms enabled (that occurs at Tough). At Normal difficulty, at least in both DL and DA, the AI operates with 75% of the economy and evaluates only the most common human tactics. This could account for some, if not

In all fairness, two things. One it, at least in DA, and I was under the impression it was the same for TA, that it affects ALL races, not just non-evil. Two, I've had the JE event SAVE me from my destruction. It's all in the eye of the beholder my friends. Look it at this way, now with the JE, all the other AI are basically screwed, and you, the intelligent, enduring, and enterprising Player, can now invade all the worlds that were previously held by your glorious neighbors without even a si

First of all what version are you talking about? Ship combat is very different in DL compared to DA. Secondly, defense in DA is the end-all be-all of warfare, a strong defense will make you very powerful...at least until the AI catches up in either fleet power or weapons power.

Darkxarth say hello to Mr. Killer Morale. There's been a LOT of research done over this by some very experienced players, and if you were so inclined, you could search through threads to find all of it. To save you that time and effort I will summarize, as best I can, the highlights. 1.) No, outside of killing enough citizens to drop below the 18 Billion point (the maximum level where the economic benefit outweighs the cost of supporting the morale of the people). And here's why:
