How does that make you feel Motti that the bounty on KP's head is 10,000x as much as yours? I have a poster out there too, but no one really understands what 10^16 means so, they took 'em down until they can finish getting 'em switched over to "Wanted Dead or Alive...Reward: Enough to Buy Every Country Twice Over"

actually, especially with their recent praise of the work with Ironclad on SOASE, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they were announcing a closer relationship, maybe symbiotic or closer, of their two companies. Two small independent companies coordinating that showcase collective will and putting the consumer first is something that would shake up the PC gaming world.

In other news, I am slightly concerned, especially after the events of Round 7, of players finding the MVL to be more of a task and not something fun to enjoy. I really want to make sure that doesn't occur. I'll move this over to the Rulebook thread I think but what about MVP awards and also All-League Awards (though the ALAs would only be given based on participation, sportsmanship, and benefits to the League as a whole). And what the hell happened with all the taunting (or lack ther

I unno, there's actually a lot more balance than people give the other ethical choices credit for. Best example: Neutral's instant terraforming. The sheer cost of savings from NOT having to terraform those tiles on your own definitely rivals the MCC, if not bests it. But it is an INDIRECT savings, and not one easily seen by the player, even though the sheer economic value of it is immense. Generally speaking, each planet has at least 3 tiles that can be upgraded, at the rough cost of 50BC ea

lol, and that's why I am never living any further north than I currently am. Today is cold enough for my tastes, 43F. Though its supposed to be in the 60s tomorrow. I'll believe it when I see it, it was supposed to be in the 50s all this week too and that never happened. Haven't seen any snow since...early March maybe? We ended up getting very little this year. My mom, and my hometown, on the other hand live right off of Lake Michigan in Michigan and they got hammered with

As a Tyranny member, I can say that while we may have our secret O'Donnell-Class stealth bombers poised to drop the ROSIE (Range Oriented Strategic Intelligent Explosive) Missile at a moment's notice...we also have more subversive ways...yes, even now we have strategically placed agents at the highest points of the Kzinti Hierarchy. and on a totally separate and unrelated matter...congratulations to Motti Khan for his Senator status promotion ;p

See ideally you are a Good Race that has traded Xeno Ethics and Good&Evil to the other races of the galaxy, and hope that they research Concepts of Balance/Malice respectively. And that they build the MCC and No Mercy Invasion Center. And that you, being Good and Righteous, must Liberate these worlds from their evil overlords and rechristen these once evil centers into vehicles of Good. And let your Divine Power rain down upon the races that would dare stand in your way with fire and br

LOL thanks Motti but I'm only an economic superstar only because I don't spend my money on 17K ships haha. And I'm willing to reload a save to keep the Economic Prosperity Event (especially when its coupled with the Doubled Population Growth Event, talk about a boon). If the Almighty ever granted me the patience to micromanage I may actually have the chance of being really up there amongst the players. Unfortunately, I think I was blessed with ADHD instead. Oh well, one must co

@Silphius: I've had the OOM happen to me also since going to 1.80g but only on gigantic abundant, and later game when there's tons of ships floating around. Since I almost always play exclusively in Strategic Mode, I've just turned off the textures I don't need (like planets) and haven't had an issue since.

Only if you had that endgamesave or another save file frmo that game. Note that the SCC itself doesn't acutally raise your military score; you need ships in orbit of that planet to accomplish that. What it does is take each ship in orbit and multiply by 5. So if you had 1 ship with 100 attack and 100 defense, to the AI it now looks like you now have 5 of those ships. So you want your strongest ships in orbit of your SCC planet. The Krynn and Korath are particularly good races to use

I had this exact problem with DA1.80e and my NVidea GForce 8500 GT. I was informed by a developer that it was a buffer flipper crash when the textures try to reload. It sounds, at least superficially, that is what issue you are having. Try these things first to see if they fix the problem: Make sure all your drivers are up to date. A lot of people forget to do this simple task. Also, make sure that you have the latest version of GCII which can be downloaded through S

well i spose the Rulebook thread would be the most likely candidate since in a way we are proposing "rule" changes in a way.

Gal. Civ doesn't have multiplayer capability. What it does have is an indirect form, in what is called the Metaverse. In it, you start a game under the Metaverse icon in the Main Menu, and its much like a normal sandbox mode game except that no mods can be used. Once you have completed that game, it can be posted to the Metaverse where you can see how you relate to other players that have submitted games.

to simplify what my loquacious friend Mumble said: lower PQ worlds have a population cap on them that the population will not grow above but, people can be shipped in to increase above that mark. The flip side of this that there are certain population thresholds hit at the higher levels that greatly reduce your morale, sometimes to dangerous levels. Its learning the correct balance of population and how to get the most economic worth from them that the real challenges of GC come into

I believe only the Terrans and depending on your choices when creating Custom Races that don't start with Stellar Cartography. You could always select any of the other races that do start with it, or you could select it when creating a custom race in the Tech screen. Research Xeno Research, then Sensors and Stellar Cartography will open up for you. Sensor IV will grant you the ability to build the Eyes of the Universe wonder which greatly increases your visual range around every ship

wow, we've neglected our team home page for a while now LOL actually, for that matter, all the teams have neglected their respective pages. I'll have to see if I can find some good bling to put up, and spice up the page or something

what you are actually seeing is the effects of Stellar Cartography that, generally, the AI starts with and the Human player does not. This means that the AI knows where the planets, resources, anomalies, ships, etc are at the start of the game. It does not know where the habitable planets are, just that there are planets there. The sensor range in DA at least is hard coded at 15 parsecs for both the human player and the AI.
