:D as it should be Motti, for your continued praise and unquestionable servitude, I promise that I will allow you to live in my new world order.

the colony rush is where I tend to run into problems the most; I can win a game fast enough, that's not really an issue. I've managed conquest wins in 0 or 1yrs even in larger maps, but especially in a gigantic map the colony rush may take me 2-3 years, maybe even longer depending on location and the resources available to me. Its the part of my game that I need to work on most.
ive sent Nocti a PM as far Jeff...its not that he's been on and not stopped by, we're looking at a complete absence altogether. This also includes for the few of us that have other methods to communicate such as messenger where the absence has been equally present. I hope that everything is well in Jeff's world but maybe it is best to proceed as if he left the MVL. We can easily reinstate him if he appears again, but holding a spot may not be the best way to proceed.
so wait, i actually have to play a game?
i really need to remember how easy it is for all of us to get off track. anyhow... Point One: game selection. My vote is behind the Best Overall Game, no randomness. Its quick, its easy, and it prevents any confusion or complaining. Point Two: Round 6 teams. Myself, Mumblefratz, and Neilo seemed to be coming to a general consensus that no action needed be taken. We were the only ones that commented on the subject. We were waiting to hear from KzintiPatriarch, as hi
well my thought had been the end of each "season"; season 1 i thought was kinda a fluke ending that early, season 2 is currently at 5 rounds, and by the time we actually count start date to end date it will be nigh close to six months, if not more. I also saw the end of a Season to be the only time we should have drafts unless absolutely needed. When I was a founding member of my comm. college's choral board, we put into place the position of "Past President". This member, who would hav
ha, ummm sometimes the most basic thing is the simplest answer. I would never thought however, that in starting even a new game (which had always come up with NEWEST automatically for me before) would keep 'Old' as the selected highlight. I feel rather sheepish now, but I'm very glad that I don't have to download the game again or anything. Well, thanks, Loupdinour, if there was way to give you some green, I'd do it. (i did hit insightful for ya tho :-)
for everyone else that isn't following the wording and math quite as well... it is a simplistic process, just has a few steps to it. Type One: Every game has a ratio that is generated when dividing score/years. One thought is to go with whichever has the best ratio, or more simplistically known as the "best bang for your buck"; its not necc. the best game, but it should be the best overall game. Takes out randomness, in most cases. Type Two: We eliminate games that are obviou
i wish i could think in these terms. I understand them easily enough, but its not a thinking pattern I would come to on my own....anyhow, I like #2, but I'm ok with #3
Well, not really sure what happened, I just know the results. The only structures that will appear in my build list are: basic factory, basic lab, entertainment center, and market center. Doesn't matter if I should be able to build higher levels with my start techs. I am using DA 1.8g, and am playing in windowed mode. I did use a custom race the first time I noticed it, but figured it was just a symptom of that particular game. I figured that I must have reset something when I
well hmmm, something went wrong. I think it must have happened when I flipped out of the window at some point, I don't know what else could have caused it but now my available buildings are gone and I only have a choice of 4 very basic structures. Looks like I'm gonna have to send in a save game. Does anyone remember who you send saved games too? well damn, its worse than I thought. Its like the buildings are all gone altogether. I've quit and restarted, and even changed races, and
yeah, i had seen that thread, just HAD to tell the developers didn't he  its ok though! I just got (w/o cntl-n either) +300, +300, +100, +100 on Manu; and +300, +100, +100, +100 on Rsch on my HW. YAY! Now if there was just a Econ bonus tile I'd be set. Hopefully there is an Econ resource nearby that I can claim. I'm only playing Maso though, haven't quite got these higher levels down yet.
why can't I get worlds like that FireBender? How many planets are you playing with in the setup? It seems, though not always, that rare maps have a higher confluence of resources than larger maps.
i'm in agreement with Mumble's synopsis of randomly selected from 'good' games. for the sake of record, do we have any other pressing matters that need to be addressed before Round 6? It seems that the vote, while not everyone, is at least a super majority of active players. We seem to have come to at least a basic agreement on submissions that we can clean up for use. I think those were the two active issues, with the AltMeta being the ongoing side one. I did have another
prolly in a few days; I know Neilo was trying to redo the Tyranny private forums (due to the old one getting lost to the internet black hole) and there were a few minor MVL Rules issues that the admins and captains were trying to come to some agreement on before proceeding.
agreed, amazing scores...though, my natural cautious nature would ask about how one managed 2 million points in a small galaxy. I've seen scores like that in huge and gigantic but never in one that small, and that's with looking at players who really know the tricks too. But, this is could all be my ignorance and lack of know-how, i don't want to begrudge a well-played game.
haha Welcome to the ToE BrutalJ we are a very active group and are working our way up the ranks.
its all about faster and better, even a few weeks at the beginning of the game will make a big difference
everyone give a very evil welcome to CalifDude who joined today. For the record, we don't require a player to play any particular way. We've just found the fun in embracing our inner demons :D There are many benefits however to being evil in GalCiv and thats strategies and gameplay that we are here to help and answer any questions you may have. again, welcome! whatever it takes to get you through the day Dys and for the record, i still havent figured out how you made that Defiant class, and trust me I've tried ((i wanted a MV capable version))
in the League Results and Ladder thread, Neilo posts the scores and points earned each round by each team at the end of the Season, the team with the most points wins the Title. In case of a tie, the ranks are determined by score. hope that helps!
this is why I made the suggestion that a captain and/or team could possibly select games to present for random selection to the Commissioner in situations where there is NOT an obvious choice (i.e. one game). If the captain wants to select the best games, or best speed, fine, but it wouldn't be a guarantee on which one was chosen. This I would hope would help alleviate some members thoughts on Captaincy choice and also the moderating effect of others that feel that lack of official
I have to agree with Mumble, a carte blanche to the captains is not in the best interest of the League. while i too am willing to find a relatively agreeable compromise, i must say that i would not vote for captain's choosing games as they will, whether it be my team or not.
