No, I think the inhibitor is in the right spot. Being able to get it right away almost negates its value. If everyone can get one right off then why not just inhibit everyone automatically? If anything I think it is too powerful. It makes retreate impossible. Perhaps it could have a range like the repair platform does. ... maybe a quite large range.

Oops, almost forgot: + Changed sorting of structures in Empire Tree so defenses are first in the list and resource asteroids are last. That's from the change list for the 0.62[b].010 version... yet it doesn't seem to be that way in the game.

kryo its absolutely a great idea with the "Daily Feedback Roundup" thread now everyone can see if there problem have been noticed, and might even help with the double posts as well Yea, what he said. Very nice for devs and us regular folk alike
Ok, got a few here: You need more research stations for higher tiers of research. I like this idea a lot however the research descriptions need to be updated to reflect this additional requirement. Also, you are unable to queue up higher tier research topics until the second (or more) research station is completed . Probably should be able to begin queuing topics once the next research station is queued (like you can start queuing research topics when the first station is queued b
Perhaps ownership of every planet/roid adjoining the star could be a requisite for building anything at the star.
Further testing shows that it will only start repairing the structures once construction has begun. In other words, it won't "repair" a structure that is still at 0%
Wait, it's not supposed to do that? I thought that just meant that the culture was really nailing ya.
When a structure is first commissioned, it is shown as transparent and has a hull of zero and the hull rating goes up to full as the structure is built. I guess the repair platforms read this as damaged. So they will repair the thing before it has been completely built. Not sure if that is intentional.
As long as we're ragging on the Kol, has anyone ever noticed that if it's firing its big beams at a ship as it goes to phase space that they'll track it for a REALLY long way? When the enemy goes to phasespace, the thing doesn't realize that the target is no longer available and the beams will track the thing sometimes up to 2 planetary diameters away before wearing out.
My guess is that at random they'll come raping and pillaging in your systems. Maybe even be influenced by the bounties.
I was able to reproduce this. As Kryo suggested, I set a rally point on a trade ship and the frigs that came out followed it around. It even looked like they were docking with the trade ports, but I think this was just because they were trying to stay close to the trade ship. Was a little disappointed when they didn't pick up a load of credits
There's something a little twitchy with the repair platform... Seems like every time I select one and try to manually use the repair ability the game will freeze as soon as I mouseover the button for it. A little alt-tabbing will get me an error dialog with this error message: Failed to find StringID: 'IDS_SUPPORTABILITY_REPAIRTECHPLANETMODULE_NAME'. NOTE: Any following StringID failures will be supressed. I'm thinking that there's something missing from the file that it pulls
Here is a savegame and some minidumps. About a minute into the savegame it will crash. WWW Link
Good point.
Hold the ~ key while issuing a move order.
Situation: I had an existing cap ship factory. I queued up 10 or so cap ships by selecting the planet and queuing them up from there (i.e., not queued at the cap ship factory itself). Then I queued up 2 more cap ship factories so that the ships could build in parallel. Problem: After the second and third factories were completed, ships were being built in parallel but they were all coming out of the same cap ship factory (the original one). They were coming out 2 or 3 at a time
This is an issue that I've had, see if you can reproduce it: Alt-tab out of sins and bring up a movie in windows media player. For me, the sound plays but the video section stays black. Now alt-tab in and out of sins a time or two (with wmp still playing). For me it got real ugly. Running XP SP2, geforce 7600 GT I tried it on a friends computer that is running Vista and this did not happen. He had a geforce 8800.
When loading up a savegame I noticed that ships that had been set to automanage their special abilities had switched back to manual. It appears that it is either not being saved or not being loaded and they are just using the default behavior - in this case manual. Just to clarify, when I say "automanage special abilties," I mean automatically select new special abilities when they level up. This is frustrating because in the late game you can have dozens of cap ships and tryin
On a similar note, an enemy trade ship entering one of my systems should not trigger a "Our planet is under siege!" message. The result of this is that you are spammed with so many "we are under attack" messages that they are no longer meaningful.
Yea, I've considered this. It should be default behavior to cooperate if there is only 1 task to be completed.
Yea. No piracy... and that's about it.
He got stabbed in the chest!!!!
Got nailed by some Nettles pretty bad on a run once. But the poison oak is pretty easy to spot and avoid.
Hey, just glanced at your profile and realized that it's your birthday! You have the same Bday as my dad... just lots of years later
