Seriously? lol Look: See? Menu endcap and titlebar are (apparently) wider than the menu buttons. But the actual bitmaps are not, they are all 180 pixel wide. Get them all together and you get something like this: <img src="http://www.w
I have the hardest time with the NextStart menu. I want to make them sometimes where the top and bottom (endcaps, are wider than the main menu (buttons). Never can do it, tho I see others do. Mine always seem to have to be straight, rectangular, I can't get any other shape to work. Even tried adding transparency to the button ends, still no go.
Adding transparency to the button ends is the way to go. You have to think out o
I was speaking of endcaps like on the NextStart start menu. Not docks.
Those do not get stretched except horizontally, since menu endcaps (and titlebars) are fixed height. And even then you can set the menu to be fixed width (even though you shouldn't).

Ok, let me know when you've used it a little bit and give me your first impressions (yes, even about that About screen, and feel free to be brutally honest lol), so I can start asking some questions. For instance, the Edit button will allow you to open the image in your pre-selected image editor, but it will open the copy saved to $ThemeBuilder.~TM (and I haven't implemented a way to refresh the bitmap you see in the Builder yet, but I will), not the original image you dropped

Background skinning mode doesn't need (or use) endcaps, so we're talking about making a dock based on individual tiles here (i.e.; a single tile bitmap). That same body tile bitmap is also going to be stretched/squished as needed, depending on icon size, icon reflection size, etc..., so any endcaps tiles will end-up going to the same process as the main tile itself, which makes it ok. It's like if they were holding invisible icons (assuming we are talking about *extended*

Why does an experienced Software company like Microsoft release 2 different pieces of software under the absolute same name? As a professional user I cannot take the risk and have disabled KB3097877 permanently. They should not expect a customer to "reinstall the same thing and hope it is fixed" that is FUD.
Not only that. Why didn't Microsoft stop the roll out o

Not even for testing yet... for playing, this is more like a demo. And talking about playing... have you already tried clicking on the water when in the About screen? And you can click and drag too. Anyway, play a little more so I can pick your brains later on muaaahahahhahhaha [e digicons]}:)[/e] P.S. regarding the dimensions of the endcaps and body: there isn't one, that's the point. The bitmaps can be as small or as large as you want, they will then b

Once you've listened to the wonderful surprise I setup for you whenever I was bored and your hate for me is at the highest point, I suggest you start by loading an existing theme. You can do this by selecting File -> Open Theme. Don't forget only the panels under the 'Dock' root will have anything. If, in the Open Theme dialog, you change 'Winstep Xtreme (All)' to 'Nexus', only Nexus themes will be shown (native and 3rd party). When you press

You think right. :) Now, first and foremost: this isn't even a beta, it's an alpha. By that I mean that many things still don't work. This is for you guys to *play with* and let me know what you think, not to actually start making themes yet. In fact, the only thing 'working' there are the panels for Nexus skinning. All the panels for other objects (Shelf, Menus, modules, etc...) will be blank. However you will find that most of the stuff in the Nex

Microsoft of today = Idiots 'Only' took them 36 hours to solve the problem and during all that time the faulty patch kept being pumped through Windows Update even though they already knew about the problem. And I bet the *only* reason they fixed it was because it affected their own precious Outlook (that is all they admit to anyway).

You know what is really weird? When I woke up the first thing I did was install today's Windows updates. Only after rebooting did I become aware of Winstep applications crashing left and right via the Winstep Support email and Uninstall Surveys. I immediately went into emergency mode until I was able to figure out that the culprit had been the Windows Updates and that the problem was not affecting just Winstep applications. But the weird part here is: even though I did see

What he said. This issue also affects Winstep applications , causes Outlook to crash when an HTML email is received, breaks the Windows 7 Sidebar gadgets, causes serious log-in issues and kills Asus Audio Center. More information HERE , <a href="h

Look, Winstep Xtreme is extremely (pardon the pun) powerful, so there is a lot to learn if you want to use it past the basics. You can play with it at will safe in the knowledge that if you run into trouble you can always reset everything to installation defaults in NextSTART Preferences -> Advanced -> Troubleshooting Options -> Reset Everything. Same for WorkShelf. If in the mean time you run into a configuration you like but you want to keep on experimenting with it, you ca

Alzheimers ain't my specialty. [e digicons][/e] What do you want? You want to keep the NextSTART/Winstep taskbar or you prefer the Windows taskbar? If the former, you can add a Quick Launch button to run the 'Show Start Menu' internal command, which will show the Windows/WB Start menu. Or you can right click the Start Button in the NextSTART/Winstep Taskbar and select 'Associate to Windows Start Menu', which will make it open the Windows Start Menu
