[e digicons][/e]
You better! :) And please, and this is for everyone, enough with the old boring *rectangular* Shelf and Desktop Modules skins. Winstep supports free skinning - be creative! With the new found freedom the Theme Builder will give me, on my part I promise I will also add a ton of extra skinning features/options to what is already there.
Unfortunately, as I explained in the related thread on the Winstep forums, the Theme Builder will have to wait until the next release.
Oh. But wasn't there a thread recently asking what we would like to see fixed or changed on WC?
The 'Activity Stats' and 'Recent posts' etc... fields in User Profiles seem to be broken. For instance, Brad (Frogboy) just posted in the forums but, in his profile, the last time he is listed as active dates back to November 2013 (!). Even though the last post he made regarding Surface 4 does indeed show up in 'Recent Posts', the post immediately after refers to a thread from 2012 (!). Island Dog's is listed as Last Active in December 8, 20
Last night a friend said something to me that I think sums it up exactly: "Before, everything was ugly and gray. Gray windows, gray buttons, etc... But now, eye candy is everywhere!' And that's the thing we 'old timer's' have a hard time realizing because the change has been so gradual: in those days, basically nobody in the world of Windows cared about aesthetics. We were mostly techies, applications had to be functional, and nobody cared how they looked!<

The reason there was a large interest was mostly because the Proxma AG guys did a great job making German people aware that something called Winstep existed - they contacted German magazines, German software s
So, is it really a drop in demand, or just that the support and software development to keep on skinning/customising seemed to be disappearing?
Drop on demand, lack of interest. Vista/Win7 were good looking enough for interest in skinning Windows (or make it look like MacOSX, which fueled a lot of this too) to drop like a ton of bricks. As Brad also stated in a previous article he wrote, skinning Windows was now so complex (i.e.; so

Oh come on. Lies, all lies. Everybody knows MS would NEVER do something like this. The public backlash would be terrible, after all. :-P ;-)
That was the time for Windows customization. :) Look at the poll post: back then WC got 35,000 unique visitors per day, with 2,000 new users registering every day. Now most skinning related sites/forums who did not evolve are either dead or dying. AquaSoft, for instance, is a ghost town. Depressing. :(
That's because under Windows 8.x Metro apps could only run full screen, under Windows 10 they run in a window. Since Metro and Win32 applications are two very different beasts, to pull this off Microsoft uses a Win32 'container' window to hold/host the Metro application. The problem is that these windows break the old rules for what should appear on the taskbar or not, and MS doesn't care. MS controls the Windows Taskbar, so for them this is a non-problem. For 3rd part
ApplicationFrameHost is a 'container' window for all Metro/Universal apps.

Remember the NS Start Button is an hotspot like any other, so it can be associated to basically anything, not just the main NextSTART menu.
Yep. lol But it makes sense. :)
The discount code issue with Paypal and Amazon orders has been fixed. :)
Redneck, you have a PM too. Lightstar, I just made a test order here and there were two things I noticed: 1. The discount and price were fine in the first page, as you said. 2. However, when I press the checkout button the order is immediately fulfilled (and with the discounted price). There is no second panel with another checkout price. Since the e-commerce part is all handled by BMT Micro I'm not sure what is going on. To have something to send them so t

It's for those who have up to 5 computers at home and/or want to use Winstep Xtreme at work as well as on several computers at home. Basically a 'family pack license' for up to 5 users.
