Oh, Nexus has a lot of features you won't find on any of the other docks (like the multi-level sub-docks, for instance). And it was the first dock (with Winstep Xtreme) to bring icon reflections to the Windows world (can you notice I am particularly proud of this?). [e digicons]|-)[/e]

Ah, here's a screenshot of the Winstep Nexus dock User Interface. Quite a step forward from the old Winstep Xtreme UI, don't you think? [e digicons]^_^[/e] Anyway, the whole Winstep Xtreme suite should be featuring this UI (and the same level of simplicity) just before the end of the month - I've been activelly working on it even as I prepared the 9.5 version (which is out since the begining of June but still features the old UI) for release. <p
quoting post is there any free and simple software that has the options of winstep or more but isnt so confusing and challenging to use? The upcoming Winstep will have the User Interface that Nexus Beta 6 has. You should download Nexus Beta 6 (it's like OD+) it's free, and take a look at the Preference interface...it's really great! KTEK4D and Brisa weren't made by me. The NeXuS dock themes in KTEK4D were uploaded by me because Tiggz was too busy playing WOW and asked me to do it for him (lazy sod!), while Brisa was kind of 'commissioned' work. :) Atmospherica, Aero and AeroSky I already can take some credit for, although most of it was made with bits and pieces of other themes (with permission, of course). I'm no skinner, no siree. :SNIFF!: I just do some nice 'collages' from time to time, hehe

Starkers is right, except in one minor point, but I'll get to that later. A program like WindowBlinds hooks into the OS in such a complex way (why do you think WB's ONLY competition in all these years have been patched versions of Microsoft's own skinning engine?) that a minor change to Windows can break it, and, as Starkers said, cause BSODs and crashes. The taskbar alone in Windows 7 has gone through major changes, and you can't expect the current WB version to 'magically' work with

Guys, this is the perfect example of what happens when a company has no real competition. It 'relaxes' and updates get fewer and far between. Also, as far as I know, Jeff is being spread thin over Fences and the Dell dock. This is also the perfect example on why betting on freeware is betting on the wrong horse. It's ALWAYS the same story: freeware authors either get tired of their pet projects OR real life (and the need we ALL have to make a living) gets in the way. ALL the free

[e digicons][/e] lol, sorry, confused my GigaBytes with my MegaBytes. [e digicons]:P[/e] I meant MB/s, obviously. [e digicons]:)[/e] 25 GB/s... now THAT would be something! My 500 GB full system backup would be finished in 20 seconds, hehe [e digicons][/e]

I just got two Western Digital 1 TB My Book drives, one the Essential Edition (USB only, write transfer rate about 25.8 GB/s) the other a Home Edition (eSATA, write transfer rate about 48.4 GB/s). I use them both strictly for backups and the drives are always on. These things run HOT (case is passively cooled, no fans), often going up to 48º C (with 19/20º C ambient) just sitting there idle ! With temperatures like these, it's no wonder My Books are gett
Not sure what I did to fix it...so if you can shed some light on it that would be great
And I'm not sure I fully understand the question, hehe. If you mean the submenus used in WorkShelf, those come from the current NextSTART theme. Which theme is used for the WorkShelf context menus has to do with how Winstep integration has been set: open WorkShelf Preferences -> Theme Management -> Theme Options button -> Menus section at the top. You have 3 options: <br

Ahaha. The User Guides are buried deep in the UI of Winstep Xtreme, ok course: for WorkShelf, open WorkShelf Preferences and click the Help button, for NextSTART, open NextSTART Preferences and click the Help button. Deep, as I said. :d As for the sections themselves, check out the 'Theme Bitmaps' entry in the index right at the top of the document. ;p

You'll have to provide specific examples, with screenshots if possible. :) You can use ico, png and tif files for the Shelf left and right mini-tab indicators. I'm surprised you haven't found it yet, but the User Guide for each application (NextSTART and WorkShelf) has a Theme Bitmaps section that lists ALL the bitmaps you can use to make a theme and their filenames.
Jorge....Still not quite sure what was wrong with the skin Doc was trying to use...but I got it fixed for him and its working fine now. The original skin..."Windows_7_Superbar_in_XP_by_haran_hockey" had some some strange looking files in it such as "Startbar.png.bak"....not sure what that is and a lot of files were named liked that...and some of the graphics as well didn't make any sense...some were poorly done.
