Also, I don't really understand how Alliances work.
Some additional info on Alliances other then what is mentioned above: 1) Alliances mean that your relations with a race stays PUT so you don't have to worry about that race going to war with you which in most games is a worry to me even if they're at friendly. 2) If YOU declare war on a race then your ally/allies will not join the war in your favour automatically(for special reasons or on their on prero
Attention crusaders, please check our private forums.
Sorry I've been on hiatus for awhile but just wanted to say something on the matter rather then nothing. Straw Dogs, thats obviously an advantage. As for ARC, although I wouldn't say that it is not an advantage, its certainly not a be-all end-all advantage or even a very big one at that.. How you play, come up with the best way to use an ARC, spend your money, etc is still up to you. ...But as for advantage over DL, just as much advantage as inherent race abilities and SAs prov
Hmm, gonna be one interesting round.
Keeping it on the down-low, I see. Kidding.Hopefully kidding...if you think its a secret, then you've been smoking something funny.
OK, then. What is "it"?
A 400K LEAD on the Diplomats. We've just taken Second place on the Altmeta! :CONGRAT:
Hi guys....ive just started my swarm of ZYW..Centurion Neilo is doing all the slaughtering atm...but Poseidon is ready to go!!!
Keeping it on the down-low, I see. Kidding. ;)
Since the league is shifting over to the Round 7 thread now, I'll just put this one to rest by posting the end-result. :) [link="http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pNbXCEYz66wWdldUM8NFeZw"]MVL Round 6 Results[/link]
Congrats, Silver! :CONGRAT: Not actually too disappointed because with my exams so close and other RL concerns, I would've been able to do far far far less then Silver or Mumble... So, again... congrats, Silver, drinks on you. ;) Now where's Round 7?? Also, I'd like to second KzintiPatriarch's and Neilo's nomination as scorekeeper.
50K in 6 days? C'mon Dax; me and Jeff are kicking out 100K on the A/M every day LOL
Well, I can't compete with that. Just don't have that much free time anymore with my exams so close. But the plus side of this is that we're just about 900K from 2nd place in the Altmeta.
I always thought of it as a slight k with zin-ti at the end.
I have a request for the next commish - this is due partly to the new forum format and the fact that you no longer go to the point in a thread where you left off last. For the screenshots in the OP that show settings for each round, could you just post thumbnails in the thread that link to full-blown versions? I know it's an extra step, but watching this thread load is almost enough to make me seasick as those big graphics make everything jump around. You also can't scroll down t
I do want to point out an exceptional piece of gamesmanship achieved primarily by FireBender. He managed to get an exact tie with a teammate in both speed *and* score and thereby "manufactured" an extra speed bonus point so that his team could grab a share of the win.
Why, thank you. :)
I have reason to believe that this was intentionally planned and not just a fortuitous accident, which makes it all the more impressive.
Been
I didn't take it seriously. See the smiley faces and my closing remark. I simply took it as an opportunity to deliver a Kirk-ian soliloquy.
Kirk-ian?
One thing I'd like to ask, how do the Kzinti gain recruits at the rate that they do?
Nice! I can only got those scores in 0 year wins on small galaxies.
Nuff' said.
Even without spore weapons you can pull off a zero year win in a small(not tiny) galaxy. Its easy, I've done it 3-4 times. I used Yor Super Breeder with the Thalan HW(Adv. Race Customization by Silver) in my league game. One misconception that I think many people have is that supporting all that research needs a strong economy. And thus they devote ability points to economy along with the Federalists party. That racial bonus will get 50-80 bc max in the zeroth year which isn
I don't have the patience for a large, let alone a gigantic. Hundreds of planets don't work well with me... that and that my computer would crash.
Let me the first non-Kzinti to congratulate you on reaching first place. :CONGRAT: Getting to the top in less then 7 months is no small feat. Just remember, I expect the same when we pass you! ;)
Nice game, Mumble! :CONGRAT:
Thanks for all the info guys but I think I'm of the faint hearted. I just don't have the patience to manufacture THAT many constructors and installing the modules. Though I will try. Maybe my next small game. Anyhoo, whats the secret of the curve? A penny for your secret.

The majority of your income comes from taxes. Taxes come from your population. Try to have a high population and keep that population happy(100% morale for as long as you can afford from turn 1, super breeder works best with this). Then when you can't afford to keep your population exceptionally happy, raise taxes and take your morale down to 46%. You'll find that you make more money by raising a larger happy population and then taxing them heavily then to tax the smaller population hea
