The problem of a nuclear defense is that you must be able to shoot down 100% of the incoming missles in 100% of the cases or it is fail which is a lot more expensive than just building more nukes as countermeasure or transporting the nukes by other means (ship, car, in backpack).
If it worked 10% of the time it is worth it. Especially if you happen to be in that 10%. Something is better than nothing, but you seem to think that no defense is better than partcial defense.
I expect the media to be slightly critical (both positive and negative) of the government and ask the hard questions.
You missed it my friend. The Constitution mandates that we have a free and unencumbered press. They are the fourth branch of the government specifically chosen to be our watch dog. To inform us of the things we need to know in order to elect or re-elect the right people to represent us.
You are correct Nitro! A very big corrupt rat! But how long will it take for this to turn around? The press is an animal that does not like to be made to look stupid. They will turn on the people they support because they do like to destroy what they build up.
Yup, it works every time its used. Keep in mind that all the attacks on Civil Rights workers in the 50's and 60's was done by elected democrats while the liberals in the party screamed it was the republicans that are the party of racism.

Just got back from the doctor, he thinks he got all the cancer with surgery, my next follow up is in three months. Funny, if I had universal health care it would take three months to confirm I had cancer and up to three years to have surgery. By the way, the two doctors that worked on me are both Canadians that moved here because they could not give the great service they wanted to give their patients. Funny they are going on local radio to argue against UHC.
The health care is just a typical example. The ones doing the crying about it (liberals) are usually the ones paying the least into the system. Take a poll of small business owners (who are the ones who pay for most of the insurance in the United States) and find out what their political leanings are. It's not even close.

Bush deserved what he got because he and Cheney were bad bad men.
The only bad thing I can see that the democrats and liberals had since day one was that he won the election and tried to keep his promisses. First get your girlfriend or wife to buy a large house as a corporation. See ACORN for that, they will also give you helpful tax tips. Then import a few dozen 12 to 15 year old girls from poor countries. I am sure the State Department will be able to help with that. After you have the stimulus money to buy your large house and you have your employees/dependants you can open a
NPR this morning reported that campaign contributions have been flowing in for the Dem that will be challenging Wilson in 2010. I bet there's plenty of support for Wilson too for saying what so many were thinking. It was worth it IMO to see the look on Pelosi's face.
Don't worry about the money going to the democrat. So far he has received 100K in donations. He still owes 300K from the last election loss so he is still in the hole by 200K before he can start to ch
What you fail to see in your hard hearted, mean spirited deranged mind is that it is okay to do that to republicans because they are bad, while it is not okay to do this to democrats because they are the source of goodness and light for our nation. Sorry, just had surgery last week and still on pain killers per Dr. Obama. My head might be a little foggy. [e digicon
You can try and play semantics if you want about different types of government (i.e. local/national), but ultimately they are both governing the population (one locally, one nationally), and hence are both governments.
Did it in less than twenty hours. The manuscript is now complete and over. I feel a little sad now. The next step is the cover design. I hope they don't do ugly.
At 1120 last night I received the typeset edited copy of my book from my publisher. I was more than surprised to see the ISBN number and the dedication on the book. They were a source of pride for me. I have 48 hours to proof read the manuscript and get it back to them for the very last changes. I am as giddy as I was when my children were born. Okay back to work![e digicons]:grin

Just for the record, the title of this article was a quote from James Madison as well.

It is not the government’s job to become benefactor to person’s people or nation, it is not the job of our government to give us anything, this includes health care, Medicare, welfare, or social security.
