well, i have a serious DOS problem on my system with the following specs: Acer Aspire 1600 series (laptop) Win XP SP1/Win Longhorn 4051 :> (Dual boot) Intel Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz. 256 MB DDR SDRAM 30 gb hdd. doesnt matter here i suppose. And graphics by: ATi Mobility Radeon 9000 (64 MB) Ok, coming to the problem. when i boot into Win XP.

yes Cyclic Redundancy Check. Is there some sort of way to recover the file? I guess not...but i am able to open all other files on the CD! just this one is bothering me... because this is the SETUP.EXE file!
Well, i got a new CD and friend has loaded some sort of software on it. But, when i try to copy a file, it says: CRC Error. What can i do? is there any software with which i can recover the file from the cd? and please dont tell me that i should give the CD back to him!
