Dude. It's never good when your sweat freezes. Never. You're going to flip out when you get here for the marathon. It's going to be downright balmy compared to what you're used to. Congrats on finishing. I have a strong feeling that you'll be fine when the race comes around. There's an energy along the entire course that will pull you through those tough miles. I'll be about 2 miles behind you at that point. JB

I hate tempo runs! They always seem impossible when you first start. And then it totally becomes a mental game trying to keep yourself moving at the same pace. For me, it's even more difficult not knowing exactly what my pace is (Nike+ is no good for these kinds of runs -- at least not with getting realtime pacing info that's accurate) so I end up pushing harder and always thinking that I've fallen behind. I can't imagine what it's like on a

Sounds tough. I know I should probably be doing these too but I don't have the heart right now. My tempo run today was brutal and I'm not even sure I ran the pace I was supposed to. I don't know if I could handle the Yasso800s on top of the stupid tempo runs. You are a monster.

Dang. That's pretty fast, especially near the end! I hate tempo runs with a passion. I'm almost never able to maintain the correct pace for as long as I'm supposed to. Hopefully after a couple of more weeks of pushing myself, that will change. But you've got yours down it looks like. Congrats!

Ah! Be careful. And injury will set you back a lot and it could threaten your ability to run period. I'm having the same problem with pace. I wonder if ignoring the iPod is a better idea. Music has a powerful influence over my speed. I hope you're stretching after every run. With the weather the way it is in your part of the country, you want to make sure you don't push your muscles too far. Good luck!

If you like running in the snow, I'd stick with it even if it holds you back slightly in the time department. The long runs, as I understand it, are there to pack on the miles for endurance purposes. Being a little off on the pace, while not great, shouldn't be too bad. I'd be more worried about being off pace for the Speedwork or Tempo runs when you're really trying to hit a specific time. Too much treadmill makes Paul a dull boy.
