Quoting Sareln, reply 2 Impulse Anywhere is what you're looking for I think. Yep. Only thing is that you have to download the whole game -- all 2+ GB of it -- every time it's updated. Seriously, folks, just use Impulse for incremental updates. It's not going to steal your soul or anything.
While that's true, the OP's problem is just that he doesn't have intern

There's no crusade, I'm only expressing my opinion and not trying to convince anyone. The facts speak for themselves, there is no disservice in the truth. Last I saw the list on the forum's site, there were 13 "credits" for artwork/music, 3 or 4 of which were labeled as having been used with permission, and at least one of the ones that were not used with permission requested that the artist be contacted to work out licensing if anyone wished to use his art. If this list is false, then o
While this is no doubt good news for Elemental overall, it's a little disheartening to see how far a mod that would not have worked if he didn't steal a bunch of art assets from other people/IPs can take him. It is great irony that so many on these boards are vehemently anti-piracy, yet he is universally revered, even though FFH2 essentially pirated the majority of its artwork as most of it was used without permission and in some cases without paying licensing. But would FFH2 have taken off w
I too was completely baffled at my experience playing FFXIV's beta, and the defense of the pos menu system they are using, on top of keeping all the servers in Japan making a slow menu even worse with lag plus the fact the game is clearly, clearly designed for a controller. Most of the pro. reviewers are giving the game the sound pounding it deserves. The review you've mentioned is not the first time I've seen a reviewer write something like: not fit for consumption but then give it a
Alas, space sims are a dying (dead?) genre, and it's a big shame. The Freespace games have been fantastic, and the ending of Freespace 2 was not only hugely epic, but left a lot of potential for a third entry into the series, that sadly never came and likely never will. Freespace 3 is my #1 wishlist game. Jumpgate: Evolution and Black Prophecy are both going to try and re-create the manual piloting feel of space sims. EVE is a fantastic and deep MMO (and can be free once you're able t
Oh no, BC2 is a bona fide PC shooter that happens to have a console version :) It's got dedicated servers, a graphics engine worthy of a PC, all that jazz. Definitely check it out, it's pretty awesome. Stay off the Hardcore servers (you can filter) if you're more comfortable with the Halo-like damage model though, where it takes more bullets to die ;) There are 4 classes, with lots of weapon and "extra" unlocks for each. Engineers get anti-tank weapons and mines and can repair vehicle
It can be played in SP, which is more or less MP with bots which follows the same rules as any other game that can be described as "like MP but with bots", especially concerning AI. You play over a series of Arenas to determine who becomes the next god, so your goal is to win the tournament. You don't need to win every arena, it uses a combination of points earned if I remember correctly.
A 32-bit program can only use 2 GB of RAM (there are ways around this, but they're not super easy).
If you're talking about Large Adress Aware, it's really not hard :) There are lots of little apps floating around the 'net that people have made for different games. The process is the same for any executable, so if they expect an .exe of a specific game name you can just change it, run it through the app, and change back. Googling for "3gb enabler" should hit the jackpot
Tablets are a different story that already has a better story teller.
It seems to me this entire post is self-contradictory.. As you say, Windows gets attacked because everyone uses it. You also say as the iPad gains popularity, it will also become a target of attack. You then go on to conclude that in this regard Windows is already ahead of iOS because it has mechanisms to patch daily and the iOS does not. So, whereas Microsoft only has to deal with the file-in
It's still better not to queue units, because you'll convince yourself you have less money than you really do The pathing is still pretty bad - units still won't find targets if there are units in the way, and reapers will take the most bizarre paths ever conceived. You still need control groups to be effective The SC2 APM meter does discount certain things, Broodwar APM is something like 30% higher just because of
Yeah, no matter how you slice it the game is a straight console port. It's a fun game, but that's because it's a fun game, not because they did something special to port it to PC (other than allowing you to pick resolution) :P
Alcohol 120% and DaemonTools are, as far as I know, two of the most popular ones. I've used DTools myself. Keep in mind some DRM models like the older SecuROM supposedly liked to complain if they detected virtual drives (that's how pirating is done), but I've never had a game complain about mine. DTools has a paid and a free version, and I'm not sure about Alcohol.
I love the old APM arguments. While the way things worked in BW rewarded high APM more it is really not as needed in SC2. I have argued that the APM counter needs to have a way to show effective APM not just useless spam.
Indeed.. in SC1, you had to select each individual production building every time you wanted to build, along with multiple selections to give your whole army orders and terrible pathing requiring you to constantly babysit your units because they'd turn
That's true. I really wish more games would try to change that. I can't think of any that have.
The only one I can really think of that's recent is Assassin's Creed 2, though it's kind of half/half.. it's stil just the middle of the story, so it gets the same wiggle room as Halo 1/2 did. But its ending was still unexpected. I think it's mostly because you were playing to unlock a mystery, more than playing to reach some expected outcome (such as saving humanity in Halo
Personally, I liked ODST's a bit better, but Reach's was better than the main trilogy. ODST might have been short, but I think it did the best job storywise. Reach just bugged me too much with the whole "I already know what's going to happen" thing. A huge example of this was right after the supercarrier (or assault carrier) got destoyed and then like 10 more warp in to replace it. That should scare the sh!t out of you, but it really doesn't.
I liked ODST's feel and mec
It ends on Oct 7th.
I finished the Reach campaign last night, and I gotta say for me it's the most fun one in all the Halo games. Somehow it just seems the most down-to-earth so to speak, a bunch of guys trying to do whatever they can. The best line of dialogue came from Kat: "I know we're losing. I want to know if we've lost." I definitely agree that Kat's death was the absolute worst, the Coolest Spartan (seriously, the accent and being able to get at all the classified information is awesome) was also apparen
I tried to try it, but it would CTD a few seconds after launching the game, before it got to the main menu, so I deleted it :P Either way I'd have stuck with BC2.. destruction, lots of vehicle play, and huge objective-based maps are Win :)
even if i dont do it: It is better to build TP's and buy friendship with maritime citystates, then to build farms. They provide +3 food to your Cap and +2 food to each other city. The more cities you have, the better the deal gets.
Have people done math on this over-time, considering that relationship decays and you have to keep buying? AFAIK, it decays faster on some difficulties as well. +3/+2 food is just one tile's worth, I'm really unsure of the long-term benefit o
Trade posts are certainly good in numbers, and after ensuring that all my cities have enough food for decent growth I mostly put down trade posts on empty tiles, and lumber mills on forests. A lot of the economy comes from connecting all your cities to your capital with roads/harbor (around 10 gold for each city connected to your capital, I believe) and from constructing the market/banking improvements which will build up on the population/trade/trade post income.
I'd much rather see Dragon Age as a tactical game
No disagreement there! Or rather, I'd prefer to see Dragon Age as a tactical game on the PC. On console, I don't care 'cause I play it on PC :P
Well I was thinking about more how he seems to be running around making wide arcing slashes that hit lots of people at once and seem to (unless it's my imagination) knock them back a bit so you can follow up with another attack.
These attacks existed in DA:O, though. I guess the difference is whether or not the short video was showing special attacks that had AoE damage, or if all normal sword swings damage multiple targets. And DA:O also had AoE knockback attacks that
The UI screenshots are likely mock-ups, they were released before the PAX demo build, which had the same UI as we had in the beta.
although I'd say that the fact that you were encouraged to frequently pause the game to issue orders and that you were controlling 3 people at once were what really made it not an action RPG
True enough, however on the console that was also more difficult and some things were outright impossible. On PC you could zoom out and drag-select all your guys and move them as one click. On the console, you could only direct control one person. There was no mouse-based movement,
Hmm....I must admit that is a little concerning. I read the article that Annatar posted as well that talks about a tactical camera view, but it's not really that reassuring. I can't imagine the PC and console versions are going to be all that different and if they are then that's not necessarily a good thing either.....as trying to create 2 types of games at once usually results in them ending up kind of half assed. Hopefully this won't en
