What, is that similar to what you do?
More like exactly
Never bother with embargo; the early raid technique just doesn't appeal to me, at least in that sense, its hard and risky and akin to rushing (though not in a deragatory way its hard enough to pull off that I respect it)
But it can be oh so rewarding It's not necessar

Plot holes are why it's pretty hard to judge whether or not he would've been able to match them or not As I've pointed out previously, at first the Shadow ships were pretty much 'invincible', so much so that Sheridan had to convince Kosh to send a Vorlon fleet to take out a few to show the other races that it can be done, since it was never managed before. But after that, they were just sort of able to start taking them out, supposedly wit
Sheridan's entire fleet was drained of power and life support by the Shadow/Vorlon fleet. The only thing that kept Sheridan alive was that other ships took suicide hits to protect him.
I was under the impression it was only his ship that was drained.. if it was the whole fleet, how could the other ships take the suicide hits?
4. Also don't forget the +10% to fighters... I know Ron takes Embargo allot so he loses some of the Sovas combat potential, I go 1 in fighters and then 2 in missile, and can stand mostly toe to toe with a Kol.
I usually take 2 in Fighters and 1 in Missile to start with, and usually with Militia it gains one more level before I take it up against an enemy player, and the 4th point goes in Embargo
and one who doesnt have support around would simply leave if you're goading him on...
And the retreat of one player is a victory for the other Ships survive, but you still gain control of that grav well, which is the whole point early on.. Essentially with Sova you sacrifice direct firepower for flexibility. The only thing a Kol can do is press forward and attack. A Sova can drop missile batteries on a part
But they didn't "beat" the shadows, they didn't even drive 'em off!
They didn't try, because that was not the point of that particular engagement But there was another battle where they discovered where the Shadows were going to ambush, and *did* defeat their fleet Also, for the battle you're referring to, they had no help from the First Ones in getting their a

Sovas really can eat Kols for breakfast. Get a fighter wing to handle the Kol's bombers, and 2 bomber wings to pound the thing while it's trying to chase after the Sova in futility, not being able to get in range
Huge difference between "the entire galaxy standing in one alliance" Vs. "One (relatively small) government, standing by itself". The EA was powerful, but I simply don't think it could hold up against the combined fleet he pulled together for that "final op".
Well, creating a mod with that scenario already assumed a combined fleet, not EA by itself I wasn't building off Paradox's post, just sort of correcting Gauntle

So basically some probably got a build with more features than we can toy with? That's the idea I get from one of the reviews that mentioned no loading screens.. sort of makes me think Sins might have a campaign similar to Empire at War.. one big map with a story constantly unfolding and planets/techs/objectives opening up as it progresses. *keeps dreaming*

No, by that point of the show, he already knew of the planet killers and had seen both in action. If I recall, the fleet he assembled was thousands of ships, and he did mention that it wouldn't be enough to defeat both fleets at once with the implication that they stood a chance against one of the fleets. And in a way it made sense. After all, in the first test he tried with Lyta jamming a Shadow ship, his White Star managed to gather enough firepower to destroy it by itself. I
thats why we write, to expand on each others' comments.
Indeed
effectively, I will have to do some more thinking into possible conditions, effects and so on. I would say a slowly declining one time effect would be nice from a dramatic point of view, but would be too complicated to keep track of. depending on counter measures, a stable effect that is valid as long the condition is present/ nothing is d

Well, several White Stars did manage to destroy a Vorlon observation post without too many losses in one episode.. though I suspect a full military base might be another story
And in Atlantis they had the "Orion" which I think was another class, but im not sure.
Wasn't Orion the name of the Ancient Aurora cruiser? Though it may be the other way around Edit: Oh actually, two of those ships were part of the series. One was probably named Aurora and the other Orion That would make the most sense..

Gotta admit, it'd be nice to kick some Shivan butt again It definitely has the ship variety, and the mod tools will hopefully allow ships to be scaled (Colossus, Sathanas were.... large) and that could be lots of fun. To this day, Freespace and Freespace 2 are among the most memorable games I've ever played Still remember the mission briefings, the hectic action, and the Col

The sad thing is, unless the modding suite will allow folks to add gun mounts to frigates, every ship would have to be a capital class, since just about every ship in B5 I can think of has more than one mounted weapon (Starfuries aside). And most of them aren't even frontal firing And, at least with TEC, capitals seem to be the only ships that are allowed to have more than one weapon type, as well as controlled placement.. That sa

I like LRMs for busting up capital ships Their long range allows them to start shooting fast, and keep shooting and easily keeping up if it's trying to retreat. I detest using Cobalts against capitals, not because they're ineffective but because their range is so short, when a capital starts retreating it usually flies forward and loops around, causing the Cobalts first to try spinning in place to get the ship into their firing arc, and the
