I think most of the problem in this thread is due to the fact that many people don't realise that all these updates are a curtasy of stardock. This was thouroughly explained before (in galciv days), for the "oldtimers" in here. But some of the posters that came to the game later on, they seem to see the updates just as patches, which most of the time they are not: they constantly renew the game, not just correct bugs.
Sorry that this is a bit OT, but this sounds a bit str

Well it's good that it had a cure. In my last game I frist got the ultra warp event, where every ship travels 50% faster. Then about a year later I got the "there are starting to apear rifts in space, no ship may travel at more than 5 speed" red hot irony... I played on a large galaxy so I thought it was horrible. First I thought that perhaps they will find a solution, but even though the game lasted ~1 year more there didn't come one. The game came almost to a standstill, even though I had hype
ONE-HUNDRED-PERCENT econ bonus. hes talking about the mind control center (i think thats the one...) it give +100% to the planet it's built on and makes planets defect instantly
I used to play netural, but evil is way better once I understood it. It is the Mind Control Center, and the 100% bonus is empire wide. So that is like 2,5 fully upgraded economic resources. Sure neutral ge

Thank you! I was distraught when I tried to play a large abundant galaxy yesterday and only found 1 habitable planet that was worth colonizing. At first I thought that something must be wrong with the game. Becuase if this was abundant you would start with something like -1 colonies on rare!

Aaa well that does explain why I only got 4 low pq planets on a large abundant all. Att first I just thought it were something wrong, so I started a new game, but it was the same. Then I just quit the game because it didn't feel fun anymore. I personally have not had a problem with memory before, so I hope you will find a fix for this soon.

If you are invading a planet that has a high enough population that you won't be able to take it out with one transport mass drivers are great. Because if the invasion fails there is no reduction i PQ or any structures destroyed. Then you take the other transport and invade with information warfare, and bam, you got a better advantage then mini-soldiers and nothing on the planet is destroyed. Therefore If you are evil and don't pay for the invasion alternatives, there is usualy no reaso

Invading a large galaxy with transports and super breeder is pretty easy. And after you have conquered a bunch of planets you will have them profitable in a few turns so that you avoid the economic slump.
Does anyone else feel that they need to wait until they have Shock Troops before it's ok to invade?
Nope, my last game on crippling I started to invade with only the first +10 soldering tech. You don't have to have the best invasion tech, you just need to have better then the one your invading.
Also, I NEVER use anything other than the 'mini soldiers' option when invading planets: 30-70% boost on advantage w/hardly any damage done to the planet and it

Notger: Have you built the Mind Control Center? Before I knew what it was I fought a losing two fronts war with -200BC a turn, with only 40% spending. After I was up at 100% spending, and got something like +100BC a turn and was winning on both fronts. The economy is possibly the most important part of a functional empire. As for the super breeder, try it! I used to be super diplomat, but tried breeder with the all factory strategy and it worked wonders. After conquering a bunch of plan

Purge you are a genius, thank you for all the tips! I tried your strategy on crippling and I was so owned :/ But perhaps someday I too will be able to win a suicidal game.

Sounds great, however the pre-order page doesn't seem to let me pre order the game with the tokens I bought through total gaming. Hopefully I am just temporarily blind when I try to pre-order, otherwise I would feel a bit duped sitting here with $69 worth of useless tokens.
