Oh yes! The tech info is just what I wanted since i first played DL! i believe this expansion is going to be great.

The AI and the diplomacy is much better. And your ships can go over the entire map, not just the stars. There is also influence that works similar o culture in civ 4 if you have tried it. However you do not have any control over the space battles, and I often miss that. But all in all galciv is a better game.
I tried to get them to say anything on their irc channel but they wouldn't say anything about it
When I played the Yor and saw that there was a 2% courage bonus with the aquatic tech I chuckled, made me think of toasters and water . But if every race get the bonus i guess it isn't as funny.
Now that is a lot of detail, must have taken ages to type! Thanks for a good read!
Mmm, this sounds interesting!
Assuming we all were, what would it matter? The tourney is medium, and it's the only TA game I've been playing since the update. So what? If medium games are broken, that's still not a good thing! It is not broken small map it is easy to have 50% to 60% of influense on the map. Play on gigantic or immense maps you will still be in a cash crunch. On smaller maps your influence is half of the map so get get the big pop
I tried to read the most of this thread, sorry if this has been said before. I would like a governors tab-like option to upgrade all of one specific structure to an other kind. With all the new different techs you can sometimes get a lot of different versions of the same kind of structure. In my last game I had adv. trade center, some other trade center and the evil bazaar economic-thingy. The bazaar gave me the most +% at the time, but since it wasn't on the upgrade path for adv. trade
I agree whole heartedly. Before tourism was pretty useless, never even bothered with the temples. But now it's way crazy. Some middle ground would be best, so that the colony faze isn't to hamstrung but it shouldn't, like most people have said, make every economy tech redundant. I just finished my first Obscene and with ~4000 in tourism income it felt more like painful.
I tried ~10 starts with large and small galaxies and didn't get a single 700%. The bonus tiles distribution felt just like normal. I used he TA beta 0.85[b].002 But if I got it I would not be unsatisfied!
Even I could do a suicidal with that start!
Damn, sure it's better to test it more. But I was going to get my brother the complete Galciv 2 collection for christmas, now I will have to find something else to give him ^^
Yes, it has, 50 replies per page and 3 pages. Just above your nick your reply has #102
Great read, thank you Wyndstar! Have you tried an all economic approach on suicidal, I don't know if it is doable but it would be interesting perhaps? Hope you make more AARs!
I apologies before hand for the grammar: I would say that to have slave pits when you have chosen the good alignment is hypocritical. First of, let's look at what the game say is good an evil. After you have played the game a few times it gives you a pretty thorough explanation of what it (the game) means by good and evil. Namely the moral choices that pop up now and then. Not only is the, IMO, overlaying theme that the good choices are what humans would call "good". They actu
I played as Drengin so I get a boatload of dominator corvetts when I declare war. however when I try to move them all by selecting them and clicking on the map, a few of them won't move. After about half of them has been moved the game skips the first two fleets of corvetts (and they don't seem to get "Auto Move" as illustrated in this film: http://files-upload.com/files/591192/FleetGlitch.wmv Suggestions: 1) I would like all the selected ships to move. 2) Is
I found it at the bottom of the tech tree. There is no link between regular beam weapons and Psyonic beam, as shown in the pic.
When I choose evil I was able to research psyonic beam immediately, and it just took 5 weeks even though I played all-factories and hadn't research that many other techs. Sure the module is expensive but it seems a bit broken. Especially when Psyonic shredder and missile has the same prerequisites. http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/2275/gc2twilightofthearnor20wb0.png
I live in Sweden so it has been Tuesday for 18 hours now. And I need my fix, err I mean game
Yep, perfectly normal. Once the beta is up on SDC, sales will process and charge all the preorders, and the serial emails will go out.
Any ETA?
The new "for sure" date is Tuesday. We have the beta ready, just not the delivery system for it. I apologize for any inconvenience!
Are we still on for Tuesday? If so, what time will it be available?
I just started a 1.8b meta game. That will still submit, right?
I was able to submit a 1.8b on the meta, http://metaverse.galciv2.com/index.aspx?g=player&id=14749 so it shouldn't be impossible.
Thoughts after I read comment #39: Will the Drengin tech tree still have slave pits and such if they choose good, or will they not be able to choose good? Or a third option?
The clock should be do-able...we've talked about it in the past, but didn't want to seem pompus. One of MOO3's first announced features was an 'alarm clock' to help gamers pry themselves away from the overwhelming addictiveness of the title. (I'm not one to insult another game...I'm just blasting the attitude of ' Oh yeah ...our game is THAT great.') But if you ASK for it, we can't be accuse
If I hadn't pre-ordered already I would now! This is looking like it will be a great expansion.
