Hi there GalCiv folks, Loving the game so far, really great job. I was a little trepidatious as some reviews mentioned the game feeling "incomplete" after playing GalCiv 2, but it really doesn't. Actually very well polished. Anyway, I am playing a game as Iridium and have built the "Galactic Showcase" one-per-galaxy improvement on one of my worlds. This gives a +25% boost to Gross Income and Influence according to the tool tip which also says "Inceas

See, when I read "tomato" i hear it as "to'mah'to"... So in effect you just typed: To'mah'to To'mah'to. Try To'may'to To'mah'to to make the difference distinct!
Hmm, I haven't played any DA betas, but from what I read: Isn't it supposed to give you the silent treatment for a little while? Therefore being able to reload to get passed it would be the bug
if the universe is everything, and the universe is expanding, what is the universe expanding into. I would argue that the universe itself isn't expanding. It is infinite. It's just that all the matter/energy/stuff inside it is moving outwards through space. That space is itself part of the universe, and is infinitely big. <TABLE cellpadd
Thanks for the warm welcome. I think I have made a few mistakes already, and got rather unlucky... But who knows this may not be as bad as it seems! First Steps: 2225, First Quarter “Noble Elgarians, today we perform a feat that will be remembered for generations to come. A feat unprecedented in the long history of our great nation, that for the first time since the birth of Elgar himself is united. Month ago we launched forth into space
Well, all emperors in this don't have armies to back up their power. If they start doing thing the majority of their empire members don't like, they will soon find themselves with a smaller empire. The emperor serves at the pleasure of the empirees
Well posted again. It seems the only thing left to say is... "GOOD LUCK!"
Good reply I don’t have counter arguments to a lot of your points, and some I do have counter arguments for aren’t very important, so I won’t waste your time on them but there is one I feel most strongly about. I can empathise with why you wouldn’t want to post quite as much as you have been having to in order to respond to me, but if you’d be willing to continue discussion on this issue I’d appr
And for the final part of my above post: I think you’ll find that this is the sort of issue you will need to vote on more often than not. Another advantage of only requiring majority votes is: You can have more than two options for each poll. Eg: Blue logo Green logo Red logo Purple logo Orange logo Silver logo with white dots and red stripes You can have as many as you like, and take the winner. I don’t think the council requires a constit
I tried to post this a couple of days ago but it went a little wrong, sorry if some of this seems like back-tracking a bit. Opening application to any number of empires would allow you to gauge the number of players supporting it much more easily than limiting it. In fact, I don’t see how limiting the number of seats would help with this at all. I can see how the logic of giving time to work out the rules and aims makes sense. But if as soon as you allow the other players to ta
Number of reps would be readjusted as the population of the Metaverse increases As for starting on equal footing, i dont agree. In my opinion, they would be offered 1 rep for the first two weeks, untill we are sure that they are

1) Any emperor of an empire with at least (arbitrarily chosen round figure) ten members can can join. That emperor (or his chosen representative) get one equal vote to all others. 2) The council decides everything about the council. Simple really Edit: 3) In the event of a tied vote the council's presented / spokes person / elected leader can cast the deciding vote. The
On the manage Characters screen I click "Add Player" Then the Add Character screen comes up with two required fields: Character Name: Serial Number: I typed in a name with no serial number and it said invalid character NAME? My name was entered simply as "Squibit". No special characters or spaces etc.? Any ideas?
I'm not sure how empires work yet. But if they are anything like clans / guilds etc. Then the easiest / best way to get this done is for the person who originally had the idea (Mumble? I can't be bothered to re-read the entire thread. I read it once already!) to suggest it to their (I used the 3rd person plural as I'm unsure of your geneder. ) emperor. If they like the idea, they should conta
I'm pretty sure anyone is welcome to access the cheats. The question is, what satisfaction will you get from victory if you can only achieve it by cheating... Also, how the **** did you get to the end of the campaign so fast?
I had to go eat actually. So i wasn't online when you last posted... But its a pleasure. I think I'm on the level after that now actually. Haven't tried for a few days. Perhaps it would be good to work through the campaign together? If you have windows/msn messenger I'm [email protected]
Oh man, I did all levels up to this one first time. Then had to try about 6 times to get this. Firstly things NOT to do: Fight the dreadlords. Worry about reclaiming lost planets. Help your allies. Things TO do, this is what finally won it for me. There may be better ideas, it was quite close: Quick-build everything you can. Have full industrial spending all the time. Have a high percentage on reasearch, as that is the only one you can't buy.<b
Good points
There should be some way to have borders in space, some way of marking your territory other than pissing on a tree. There is a way, it is clearly marked on the game map by a hazy line the colour of your empire... The point being made is that even though you and your enemies know where you border is there is no way to stop them crossing it.
You wouldn't believe how many problems I found trying to post that. It involved editing to see the html code it had inserted and changing my forum tags such as "SQUARE-BRACKET img SQUARE-BRACKET" to "ANGLE-BRACKET img src="imagelink" ANGLE-BRACKET" and other similar replacements. Any idea why the normal forum tags didn't work for me?
After Action Report: Elgarian Rise / Demise (title pending game conclusion) Hello everyone! I got the game for Christmas and so haven’t managed to build up elite skills yet, but I am a fairly quick study so hopefully this won’t be too awful a game. A couple of the bad decisions I make will be in the interests of the storyline but most won’t. Therefore I’d very much appreciate any comments you can give me on what I’m doing badly, or simply wha
