Just a fun little discovery while trying to see if the Terran Alliance were willing to negotiate peace is the screens. I usually just skim over what they have and not very diplomatic to begin with, except for this time been looking a bit more at the screens. Noticed that the screens show some gal civ 2 between the news robot, what I assume is the ship designer and research. I also think the other screens show some other parts as well but harder to make out. I am curious as to if

Hi, had a crash to desktop when trying to select one of the options when the life support mega event happens. tried this with both Benevolent and Malevolent and both crashed to desktop In the saved game the event happens 2 turns from the turn the saved game is on. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gbxerr887wlh3lc/Gilneas%20fallen.GC3Sav?dl=0 some notes, I am playing against a custom fa
-I don't know if I missed something but few times during the game uninhabitable planets suddenly became class 25 planets. -You can't tell a race to remove ships or star bases from your territory. -Invasion screen is so simple that it's sad.
Think I can answer at least these three, 1st one sounds like the land rush mega event where uninhabitable worlds become habitable. 2nd one I think was menti

Been playing it for a bit and managed to get my treasury to 2000bc and making a profit of 64 bc a week. I press the turn button still making a 64 bc but now it is down to 16 bc in the treasury. I decide to go a few turns and look at the graphs. I found something that is a bit worrying for me. at exactly at that same turn as mine goes down, a AI's treasury goes up.

Has anyone ever left the UP Yep once due to a law of keeping the imperial gov which I do not like so I could change to a democracy instead. However what happens you lose all your trade to other races but for some reason the few other races kept trade routes with me. I guess you lose your routes but they keep theirs to you. Which was also a factor that I ended up in a war with three races similteanously still won that one

Oh well enough pondering about it. I have two saved game choices. lol 1. the easy route. Take my trying to find out the culprit save, were I get better ships and have more money or, 2. the hard one with no money and three weaker ships from other races. take the second one. I am up and ready for the challenge. either way the Yor will be conquered through death and destrouction

I would agree with you Popcorn Avenger, but I understand the economics quite well for this game, and to make matters worse I have been playing galciv for good amount of time. But to make sure if it was that, I play tested it through the same saved game of course the yor declared war and and recieved ships from two races still the Altarians, and then humans but ready for this, little more ships than would I got from the Drengins in the other game ind not frigates either, three battleships and a f

I have a question, however I don't know were to put this. But I was playing Galciv2 DL version 1.50 and I ended up in a war with Yor because my civ's military was lacking. During the conflict, the Altarians gave me two ships but did not check my treasury, and moved stuff and things, but then I got a message from the Drengin Empire saying there were giving me ships for my war against the Yor. and When I checked my treasury it was -238 and before that it was 1678 somewhere around there. and I

Interesting very interesting will history repeat itself, and the Gondacor and Chelsyrian Alliance end up in a war?? I think so After contact was made with the Krynn, contact was then made with the Altarians, who seemed to be a peace loving people, maybe almost too nice. I agree like this part very much too

Great AAR, enjoyed the read very much. It seems that the Altarians are not all that nice as there are made up to be. Never liked them that much any way. lol. most times in my games I end up in wars with them.

i agree the AI is predictable but in my opinion the only way the AI would ever be as good as a human player is that it will be as unpredictable as a human which would mean nearly sentient. One thing I have to say I have been mostly a RTS player, and actually thought TBS strategy games were boring. but pretty much Galciv and Galciv2 changed my wiew on that. Really how many have the patience to actually sit through an enitre game in gal civ with more human players waiting for them to make there tu

I for one will support Stardock on this as I have lost almost all of my games while moving because of so called friends, and probaly been sold. As my grandfather usually says to such a thing I got the rough end of the pineapple. Just to mention there were lot of games in that box and good ones to plus galcivI. It really is bad. put I don't usually register. I believe Stardocks system is lot better than others it means that I could have gotten that game back locking the person who took the the st

I am playing two games on challenging difficulty level and me as custom one neutral and one evil however it is the Arceans in one that is the most advanced race and the second it is the Thalans. not The Drengin for some reason I have no really big problems with them. My real threats as I see in most of my games is the Altarians and now Arceans

I have a few things to say on this. First of all is that carriers in the sci-fi universe were created to move those ships that did not have the ability to move vast distances in a short amount of time. Which the storyline of galciv II's back story eliminates the uses of carriers as all hull sizes are available to use the hyper drive. The use of carriers in-game is useless as military usage as a carriers main role is acutally refueling and rearming fighters plus transport. I am not aginst ca

I agree to that plus if the alliance gets to powerful disturbs the balance of power. in other words its a threat to me and must be destroyed

that was good post Nyame. however most games I play both the yor and drengin like me and I end killing of the Altarians instead, and I am not evil so I thought

War of Ascension Chapter 1 Prelude Much has changed since we were last here, left after we transcended. When we came back, the races that we knew were gone. It seemed that a cataclysmic war had raged through out the galaxy by the surviving races, trying to control our worlds by the power vacuum we left behind. For last 5000 years we have been wandering the universe, exploring, settling, and showing younger races the way. However I am still tormented, scared by th

Hi I am new to the forums however after reading several aar's, I decided to write one myself, a game that I had finished for some time it is about a war of annihilation. I have finally gathered enough courage to do this so here it goes, I hope you like it, it is based on a game that I played for a long time ago when I just got it. the version is 1.0, the AI is set on normal and number of opponets is nine it is a custom civ and my political party is technologist and the galaxy is set to
