I bought this game hoping it was a legit trading game, but it is more of a corporate acquisitions game. The sabotage part doesn't bother me, but their is no real trading in the game, just a generic buy/sell function. I'm not saying the game isn't fun, but it is not what I was expecting either. My biggest gripe is there is no native sandbox mode. Another gripe is that while the game is open to modding, the game is not really mod friendly. Each update to the game tends to break the mods.<

Why not just give the players the choice between using the new DA combat method and the old DL combat method? Seems like a simple solution. That way the fans of either system can still play the game the way they like. Isn't GalCiv all about allowing players to play the kind of game they want? Here's another possible solution to think of. Instead of changing the defenses to make them more efficient or effective, why not change the weapons to make them less effective or efficient against

On the smaller maps with few colonies to manage, I turn off the auto-builder and micro-manage, but on the larger maps with dozens and dozens of colonies, auto-builder is almost a must.
