I agreed with everything on there, escpecially 2, 3, and 4.
Minor Race
I'm curious... it says I can update DA to 1.8g, however any attempts to do so fail. That is, it says it worked, but then it still says I'm at 1.8e and I can still update to 1.8g. So I'll just stay with 1.8e for now. I was able to update to the latest version of Twilight of the Arnor Beta and GalCiv II (.93.002 and 1.50.133 respectively).
I hope they are a minor. Seriously, though. A ship loaded with Korx escaped and settled down on a new planet, right? So they could be a minor in GC3. Same with the Drath, I suppose, could happen.
Huh, I've found two bugs now: a. I colonized a class 22 world- Dark Yor II, it was. Upon doing so, it leaped to Class 30. Then, I purchased a Aul Incinerator, and suddenly it was Class 40. b. While you can supposedly build only one Slaughtertorium, you can actually build as many as you wish.
Don't know if it is a bug or not, but the Korath have no Mass Driver weapons. I purchased the technology and components from other AI powers.
The Jagged Knife take all the techs that have been researched so far. If you have every tech that has been researched in the game, it will seem like they took all of yous.
Yes. (As my username is 'Minor Race', isn't it obvious?)
I still play Civ 3. But yes, I do. Warlords- if you like scenarios, get it. A lot of people say a lot of people don't, but personally, I enjoy scenarios better. Beyond the Sword- GET. IT. It's really really good and I don't think I'd ever play a game of Civ4 without it.
From what I've heard and pieced together, it'll have the Skirmish and Campaign features much like GalCivII.
With TA and 2.0 coming out, I had two small requests. FIRST: If you go to the trouble of character contests and developing story, why are the characters not important? For instance, if you are facing the Terran Special Agent James Locke or working with the Korath Commander Ragash, make them the leader of their civilization for that scenario! It bothers me so much when I hear about a certain character- and he's just a 'randomly generated name'. SECOND: If there are a bunc
From exploring it, I've found that minor races often research the 'defense' and 'weapons' technologies (on Normal difficulty and below- as I said- I did some research). In DA, I created about five Customs that were, in fact, minor races given a name and super ability. Things I do not like about minors: -They build mega amounts of starbases, on resources and influence, which don't help them. -They block their ports up with constructors or weak ships. -Their pla
I read through, but didn't notice: Was the spore ship bug solved?
Yes, they should.
Yes, as the Torians, the only unique techs I've seen are the Healing Pool things. I agree that they should have some unique planetary defenses, and decreasing ship costs. I seem to remember the Torians being aquatic, their ships held lots and lots of water. Maybe this need for water space allows increased ship size? (so you get larger, cheaper ships) But they have less hitpoints.
Just to put my two cents in: I've had this with freighters and constructers as the Terrans. For instance, I'll be playing a game and then exit, save, and come back to it. Suddenly, my constructers are gone. All ones I had in operation before are still there, but the new ones that I build during the second play session are invisible. Then, after reloading a third time, the problem is fixed.
Yes, the problem seems to be this: You start the game with 'Germ Warfare', however the required tech Spore Weapons is not available on the Tech Tree.
If there was a point, I seem to miss it. Are you asking what we believe each race is 'good at' in TA and before?
Agreed with the person who mentioned the tournaments. How do I access them?
I think he's saying all the Class 0 planets are solid and fit into the quantity of some specialized planet. You make a good point, but there are some cases you haven't taken into account. -Planets with no atmosphere- there's no tech for them. -Ice Planets are not one of the types you can colonize, so your argument has no credit about them. -Many of the Class 0s are Gaseous. -Planets might also be affected by radiation or a toxin that even the technology in GCII can't cur
The Drengin way to win is not 'everlasting peace', I believe they just threw that in there to make a change of pace. The way the Drengin are supposed to win (in story, the way they do) are to wipe out the others and have an alliance with the Korath. Ignore that, just declare complete war on them and obliterate them.
I believe you could, using the EDITORS, such as Map Editor, Campaign Editor, Tech Tree Editor, Scenario Editor... that are said to come with TA.
I vote for late release. I'd be happy to wait until February- I have the betas and DA, after all. Making it better is definately a plus, I'd wait till next December if I had to! Well, no, I wouldn't. But you get the idea.
Um... I agree with the first part, but the second is completely off. You go in with 1 billion, not 1,000. When you found a colony with '500 people' you get a colony with .5 billion, not 500 people.
Well then these "things" wouldn't be pirates, they would be a sort of super race. Like I said before, why would we call these incredibly powerful foes pirates? It's like calling the army of god's warriors "pirates"! Or better yet to be in context of the game lore god would be the dreadlords. quote] Well, I suppose they are almost like galactic mercenaries for this group? Imagine the following: 1. A distant race gained power by hiring mercenaries who are far more powerful
Still taking suggestions? Asteroid Fields around the galaxy are becoming depleted by massive mining. They are loosing asteroids at an alarming rate. Our main source of industrial manufacturing is becoming extinct. A group of Pirates arrive, but instead of attacking you, they offer to serve you. These Pirate ships are incredibly strong, but they don't have planetary conquest or starbase technology- yet- and are willing to go to war to gain it. Or they could just trade for it and
