Widget question in Widget talk WinCustomize Forums

ok new to this prob should be posting in beginners but didnt see any widget talk there so posting here I am learning how to build widgets using desktopx 3.2. I have built a few cpu and system meters and they work fine (at least i think they do) so my question is i have loaded a few other widgets and also looked at some how to's and they all seem to be using scripts but i built mine using the desktopx
