I don't think ties at this point in time is a large issue. To leave it alone and see how it works out after this round is fine by me. I don't think there will be a problem with leaving them alone. Odds of a tie with score are next to nil. As for the speed bonus, it makes perfect sense making it a team bonus. From day 1 I wanted more team orientated bonuses. This fits right in.
