port forwarding is ok, BUT even Linksys itself, in their user forums, says that doing the same in the DMZ menu is preferred. The moment I did that, I could immediately host games.
To really see how your strategy stacks up, you need to play the game in online multiplayer. It's more challenging but also more rewarding. It also has social aspects (make friends online).
hey, i have our game saved ready to play over the weekend

I have played 2 or 3 games online so far and now I am really excited because I learned to host as well. You can play teams or FFA's. My personal nature always draws me to team play. I like being part of a team. But sometimes I feel as if my teammates are more interested in helping themselves and ONLY themselves. In other words, they select "teams" so they know who won't attack them. I am the kind of player who keeps in constant communication trying to at le

i played my first online game and lost, but i loved it!! graphics were beautiful and I talked smack, but got my ass handed to me. i love being able to talk to actual humans (hey [player], this guy is wacking me with sentinels, can you come hurt him?") i was expecting crashes and stuff, but it worked out very nicely.

Do they also aid allies??? prior to 1.04, the AI many times will show up and not fight even when they have been asked to. I am hoping the idea of benefiting from the repair platforms will encourage allies to fight. thoughts?

(I play Advent) I am still afraid to get the 1.04 update, and I am in the middle of a game that if frustrating me so. Among my chief problems is that the Advent is too slow to engage the enemy who always seems faster than myself. I have the 2nd biggest fleet in the game and it isn't spread out to a lot of systems. It is on my two choke-point planets right next to eachother. This is 3 v 3. The computer's tactic is to lure me to one planet, then when I go t
I've seen it also, but not in 1.03 If you do see it again save the game and send it to [email protected] letting them know what to look for. And unfortunately, when ships get that far out they'll want to regroup at the "proper" edge of the grav well before jumping out, as far as I remember
exactly, they want to re-group and thus you wait a long long time.

I have noticed in a few of my games that for some odd reason much of my fleet gravitates WAY outside a gravity well, like one around a worm hole. It wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that it dissapears and that when I call on it to move to another system, it has to regroup from this far-away place outside the gravity well totally negating the idea of "delaying" my arrival to defend a system. anyone else notice this?

I notice in games that my fleets will go from A to B but often choose the route that takes them into enemy territory. I find that that is a little too much hand holding as I have to manually get them there by the safest route. Thoughts? One bad thing about this too is that the enemy sees what I have and I prefer to be a lot more discrete.
Seriously dude, its like your pulling hairs to justify crap gameplay.
I'm not used to seeing such blind hatred. I like Rebellion and I like SOASE. It's my opinion, and I have yet to have you give any precise counter-arguments to what I mentioned. IF Lea was having problems doing her diplomacy stuff it was either #1 the planet was already heavily aligned with the empire or #2 the empire was sabotaging her mission. as for ship building, as in SOASE, multipl
What, with the laughable combat mode that lacked even the most rudimentary of tactics. Ships, no matter their size, fired one little laser until they, or their, target died in some cheesily pixelated explosion. Further more, the combat graphics were atrocious, even by graphical standards at the time. Fighters were nothing more than cardboard cutouts that resembled gnats, and ships looked like jagged polygons or bizarre oblong things (nice). It took forever to get anything remotely done. He

random events like planets blowing up or like that feature from GCII where another race discovers a tech that will make them gods unless dealt with. maybe an unknown race invades a system. Imagine winning a game but continuing to play because something MIGHT happen that is a challenge.
