I suppose your right Spartan, although I would like to think here at WC "Joe" isnt so average.. This is a skinning site and as skinners that submit work..we are "graded/rated" by moderaters and our "peers"(fellow skinners)So naturally the "Joe's" here have a more trained eye than your "average joe" and many do strive for perfection... As a consumer, WC is invaluable..Here you can learn what a trained eye sees in particular submissio

Why do you need vista 'Ultimate' ? There is very little difference between Home Prem and Ultimate.... Why won't it work on Home Prem? If there was very little difference between the two I wouldn't have paid so much money to get Ultimate. To answer your question directly, DreamScene is only available through Windows Ultimate Extras, which (as the name suggests) means that you must have windows ultimate to use it.
Personally I like the Bees quite a lot. The raindrops is amazing but its unusable to me without a widescreen resolution since you have to crop most of it out for it to look decent. A real bummer IMO. The river and the orange plasma... well they're OK... Thats my .10
I rated all four with 5 stars, however I deducted 2.3 stars for Dreams two and four respectively for not looking so great beside my other Dreams in their still format under the Desktop Backgrounds menu (color clashing) and deducted 1.23 stars for three and one (in that order) for downloading so slow as a whole (or group). That, and taking into consideration the 55% CPU usage (average) that Dreams one, three and two are taking, I added in a factor o
Here's to praying... my FX-55's performance is a little worse than the original poster's 3800, and I know my 7800GTX can pick up that slack! (albeit it is only single core...)
Nice loop on the Parrot! I approve
Yeah I need to invest in a good CPU... Vista views my FX-55 as a piece of turd... it gave it a 4.3 for it's hardware rating, which is my lowest score. Vista also ravages my CPU without remorse... I see it go from 15% to 85% back down to 50% and up to 90% before it finally settles down at around 20% again... and all of that to open a simple software application like WMP or even Office2007. I guess the single core's can only go so far now, no matter how high end.
Awesome. Im gonna take another look at it. Thanks for actually listening to me, it truly is one of the best waterfall dreams I've seen yet. Downloading as I type this Also - It appears that the link to your batch file isnt working quite right. There's got to be a way to clear the cache through explorer, wont simply deleting temp files and the such do the trick?
Vaginal Itch Sidelines Trapeze Artist ! Hmm... I'd hate to be that trapeze artist!
wow that's got to be one of the best waterfall dreams I've seen yet. The only gripe I have with it are the ripples at the bottom of the screen - they're moving WAAAY to fast (or something... it don't look right). MasterBaron if you could fix that little detail it would be a rocking dream
Some more premium dreams would be nice. I don't regret buying Blissful Sunset even though I don't use it as much as I thought I would; after all, it was only five bucks! I'd love to see some more premium content, though. That would make me a happy camper.
Yeah I noticed a slight increase in CPU usage when I installed 101.41 as well. I'll test it out for a bit more but if it gets really bad I'll hop on back to 100.65 and let the beta testing be done with those that can maintain their sanity longer than I.
Awesome! Thanks. The Mountain Clouds Dream is nifty.
Im using the Nvidia Forceware 100.65 As far as I know thats the most current driver
15-20% would be a godsend for me. Im running an FX-55 with 1gb of RAM and a 7800GTX and my CPU usage bottoms at 30%. Some of the dreams (though not necessarily the most impressive) top my usage at 75-80%! On average, though, I run dreams with about 40-50% CPU usage. If those numbers sound horrible (and I guess they are) I want you to know that I STILL use Dreams regardless (heck im watching peter22's WesserFall of the side of my screen as I type this... pretty). Sure the n
Users of Object Desktop will get access to dynamic content first and have some of it exclusively. Would you mind elaborating on this a tad Brad? Do you mean that only users of Object Desktop will be able to use specific features that .Dream objects will eventually support? (such as an updated trigger system with more options) If so, how would that work, exactly? I'm have a hard time putting all the pieces together. Thanks in advance,<b
Well it appears that my conclusions were incorrect to a certain degree. I went and tested Dreamscene with a video that has sound on it, and to my dismay it doesnt work quite like I had first concluded. To sum it up, the video will pause (effectively muting it) whenever a fullscreen window or program opens up. So if you were to open up a maximized internet browser then the pretty sound in the background is effectively muted. My assertion that it would pause only when a fullscreen progra
while on your desktop you have sound but when you open a program or open up your browser it auto mutes itself - close that stuff down and the sound comes back on Thanks a lot for answering this question for me. It's been stuck in the back of my head for the longest time now, but for some reason I never bothered to test it, thinking that it was pointless. I honestly did not expect the Dream to mute when audio from another source came through, so I was a b
I hope that the main-page of this dream-portal will show only material which complies with this statement And I second that statement! I cant wait to see how this DreamScene content and it's community will expand in the coming months. I've never been so excited about a single Windows feature. Yosmel
"Content must loop", so even material with a jerky loop is allowed? My friend I think you missed the second part of that quote. "Content must loop. An animated wallpaper should have a reasonably transitioning loop " The way I read it, Dreams that loop horribly from the last frame to the first will not be allowed. Technically, ANY video used as a background WILL loop... after all, the video ends at the last frame and begins again
Another great move by Stardocks! Thank you for implementing some regulations... at first it was not a big deal (and honestly we all wanted to get our greedy little hands on *whatever* we can find) but now and in the future it would be ideal to host only .Dream files that are of decent quality. Keep up the good work and tell Microsoft to release their final product already!! <img src="http://images.stardock
Well for one there are several things to consider about the performance that many of us are getting with these Dream wallpapers. For one, the video drivers for Vista are still quite premature. This could be said for nearly any video card manufacturer, although current drivers work better with some cards than with others. To sum it up, however, better video drivers should definitely mean some sort in increase in performance when it comes to DreamScene in general. A second point
