I use the names of ships from Star Trek. Then I put the stats in the description window ie: Enterprise NCC-1701A (basic battleship) and in the description I put 240 242 9S 3.2R 3SR where the 240 is the attack stats (beam, missle, gun), 242 is defense, 9S is speed, 3.2R is Range, and 3SR is sensor range. That way I can see the stats at a glance and try to keep things straight. It works for me!

I'm trying to get a better feel for the financial aspect of the game. On the planet screen you can see a box that shows Income, Spending, and Maintaince for a particular planet. I understand that Maintainance is what you spend for the structures on that planet, but does anyone know exactly what Spending is spent on and how it's calculated? My goal is to see if I can reduce it when money is tight. Thanks!
Thanks for the quick response M. It is appreciated.
First time poster here. GalCivII is the best game I've played since MOO2...have really enjoyed it so far. My questions are about trade goods like the Xinathium Hull Plating or the Harmony Crystals. 1. Once a certain race builds them, are they still available for the other races to build? 2. Can you actually trade them with other races, and if so how? Do you trade them through the diplomatic window in exchange for items or tech from another race? Do you have to use a freighter from that p
