Master Baron..welcome to the team..Its an honor to work with you..hope to learn something from you.
Back at you DEVJIT! I was thinking, should I use your wall in the dream? I can shatter them and have them fall off the screen showing another one as sAARGe and zakai1369 suggested.
please someone make jpg screenshots of this dream,
I'll try and do a full screen breakup. I think I can get growing cracks, but the falling pieces may be more difficult. I'm trying to avoid doing the pieces animation by hand so for now I'm trying to use existing plugins (shatter). If nothing works out, I'll try doing it by hand.
OK, here is my first concept. I decided to try using the Vista Orb in this one. [link="http://home.comcast.net/~van.etten/Support/BrokenAeroVistaOrbs.wmv"]Broken Aero with Vista Orbs[/link]
I excited to be working with such great talent! I'll start playing with some shatter effects this weekend and see what comes of it :)
I think that you might want to consider making the Maximized/Unmaximized/Maximize thing an option since you loose the size of the window when it's not in it's maximized state.
Good new is that it's already an option, and better news is that the new version I just uploaded fixes the size issue when unmaximizing! Cheers! Master Baron
I've discovered that the issue occurs with the Dream Solar Flare. When I changed the Dream to Fire Storm I don't have the problem. Hmm, I love Solar Flare.
Everything works for me even with running Solar Flare. I'm running Ultimate 64bit with Deskscapes 2.0 so things could be a little different. P.S. It runs better using DeskScapes 2.0 with the internal player turned on because it doesn't hiccup and restart the dream when the desktop icons are hidden.
When the Desktop is active, the screensaver doesn't work properly, no animation.
I can't seem to duplicate this. Can you explain in more detail?
Interesting and a nice find! I would never had thought to test the screen saver with no windows open (Or is it when you click on the desktop even when a window is open?) :) I'll take a look tonight. You are right, there is something funny about hiding desktop icons that I've had to deal with before. Thanks for the bug report ;) Master Baron
Is there any way, with maybe a registry tweak or something, that we can stop Deskscapes from pausing when the active window is maximized?
Problem solved! Go and re-download the screen saver to get the latest version which will "un-maximize" windows in order to re-active the desktop. Cheers! Master Baron
The easiest thing to do is have the screen saver unmaximize any windows on startup, then remaximize them on exit. I'll give it a try tonight and see how well it works.
Those are good suggestions, but the trick of the screen saver is to simply show the desktop window on top. So if the desktop is paused, then it will show a paused desktop and there isn't much I can do. Also, the desktop icons are hidden in the same way as right clicking on the desktop and unchecking "Show Desktop Icons", so there is no way to fade them out. :( Maybe as APIs on DreamScene and Deskscapes are made public, I will be able to do more. Cheers, Master Baron<br
Got 3 dreams in the cooker. I got my next Master Skin which is Asteroids. For the GUIC I've been playing with Fountain and Distant Moon. Nope, when the PC is locked the screen saver doesn't have access to the desktop anymore. ;p
OK, I think I got it worked out! Re-download to get the latest version and give it a try!
OK, looks like when I did my testing I have the deskscapes internal player enabled. When I disable it I get the same issue. The preview works great. I'll have to look into it. In the meantime, it looks to only work with DeskScapes 2 with the internal player enabled.
Hey TheMasterBaron,Awesome idea. I'm using Windows Vista 64bit, and the screensaver is not showing up in the screensaver selection screen. When I rightclick install it shows for that screen only, as soon as I press Ok it disappears and won't showup Do you have any idea how to get this screensaver working with Windows Vista 64bit?
I'm running 64bit and don't see the same problem your having. Right-clicking and using the install works just fine and stays selected as the sc
I guess I'll have to write a program to do it for me :p
Also check file size. There are some that are near or over 100mges. You might want to try out some of the smaller dream files (when running video). I like CarGuys latest dream here: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=1301&libid=50It's only 8megs and it's nice. Here is an example of a lot of motinon you can try outhttps://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=400&libid=50
I'm not sure larger file sizes affect cpu usage. If anything, larger files use less CPU b
OK, what am I missing? I can't seem to find this either? After picking Import, I pick my PNG file, and I have 3 buttons options to choose from: Create Subframes, Modify Existing subframes, and Sample Graphics. I keep expecting to get a marquee tool at some point, but none of these do it. Can someone explain where I'm going wrong? Thanks, MB
Perhaps this thread will help: [link="http://www.vistaheads.com/forums/microsoft-public-windows-vista-general/177176-dreamscene-not-working-after-bsod.html"]Dreamscene Not Working After BSOD [/link] Person had the same problem. Here is his last post:
I have since resolved the problem. The video driver I was using had somehow become corrupted. Updating to the latest version supported by the Eztune software used in conjunction with my monitor did the trick [/qu
No, you can only see the thumbnail. There is no preview for dreams like screen savers have.
Video dreams require something to decompress the video. That is what the codecs do. WMV video require more CPU to decompress the video that MPEG2 because WMV is compressed more. Having more ram only prevents having to load the video from your hard drive again on the second loop, but each uncompressed frame is not saved into ram to be played again, it has to be decompressed again. That is why so the CPU load does not change after the first loop. Bottom line is that if you use
Since it uses whatever video codecs installed to play the videos you need to have a codec that uses your GPU. Nvidia has there purevideo codec for mpeg2 playback, but doesn't run on every card.
Can't be done while the dream format remains closed.
