Footsie #45: It is still up to responsible adults to make responsible decisions for the innocents in their care. Perhaps I've missed something here. I agree with your statement 100% but the parent takes priority as theresponsible adult in this situation (in most situations I think). It sounds like the parents' views are being overridden?

SDC is the portal for downloading the applications and updates. While it does do discussions, skins and chat, I prefer the Wincustomize Browser. You can tell when people have posted using Wincustomize Brower from the little icon in the bottom left corner.
Truly it's not said often enough. This is one of my favourite places to hang out. Thanks to all. And thanks WOM for all the help you've given many of us. Dinner's on me - be at my place by 5 though or it'll be too late.
Which program you use depends on which "cool thing" your talking about. WindowBlinds skins require the WindowBlinds program, Icons need IconPackager and so on. I suggest you go to https://www.stardock.com and have a look at the programs and possibly the shareware versions to give them a go. Most of us here will highly recommend going for the full meal deal. You get all the apps at a much cheaper rate than subscribing individually. Beware however. You'll have so dang much fun that y
I was teaching a class and asked a question. Nobody answered so I picked someone. You sir, what do you think? Yeah, you sir. He was a she. Damn classroom was on the 4th floor and there were no windows I could jump out of. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALI
Or possibly I could read the news before babbling on here. Sorry
The Microsoft Developers Conference http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2003/oct03/10-27PDC03NextWavePR.asp has showcased Longorn. What I found interesting was reference to WinFX,"the Next-Generation Windows Programming Model". About 1/3 of the way down the story: "Also delivering a keynote address at PDC was Jim Allchin, group vice president of the Platforms Groupat Microsoft, who introduced WinFX, the application programming model for the next generation of Windows, and a number
Remember "Puff the magic dragon"? Widely denounced as a song promoting drugs. People have noted pornographic images in Disney movies. If you stand on your head and squint while playing any Disney movie at 1/4 speed, you'll eventually see Donald Duck doing nasty things to the three pigs or some other such nonsense. There's enough serious problems and stress in this poor old world without inventing problems. Now it's back to my potions and cauldron! <A HREF="https://
I didn't mean to post twice. Sorry
For whatever it's worth, the Stardock/Wincustomize thing works great. I had an ugly problem with an XP upgrade (don't start no debates here). Early (too darned early) Thursday morning I thought I'd use the chat to see if I could get some help. Hippy was on and gave me some direction. Thanks mate! To give you the follow-up, the problem wasn't the display adapter at all. Turns out that the AGP Controller got screwed up and that was what was screwing things up. Without your d
I misread question 1 and screwed that up. Don't remember angle calculations at all so that was the other one. This doesn't bode well for my grade 8 daughter who asks me for math help regularly.
I only got one. Guess I need to drink a larger variety of beers!
Drive kids to lessons or activities mostly. Play in my band, rehearse way too little, read mostly science fiction
Thanks for the input. It seems the best thing is to Email Customer Service and run it by them to be sure. I'll report back when I get an answer so y'all know what happens. thanks
Callibaut! Best Belgian chocolate anywhere. I get major brownie points when I bring a box home for birthdays and stuff. Not cheap though.
Thanks Mike. The Home version is an upgrade but the Pro is full version. I'm more concerned about MS's view re giving the Home version away. When I install it on my friends machine, it will certainly detect it is a different machine. I expect I'll have to phone the registration in?
I have XP Home on my computer and I picked up XP Pro for $10 with an education discout at the college where I work. A friend is running Win 98 and (surprise) has no end of trouble. Is it legal for me to upgrade to XPPro on my home machine and load/reregister my XP Home copy on my friends machine? The doing is easy, the legality I'm not sure of. If I do what I'm asking, would I be better off registering the Home version in my name or can I tell MS that it has been gifted to my friend?
see my post reply #1. There's such a thing as setting yourself up as the fall guy. You don't want to get wet, don't climb into the dunk tank.
There's a set-up if I ever saw one!
Avant Browser has been working well for me.
pictoratus, that's about as personal as it gets. Mind, at our age, it's as much a fond memory as anything.
