I've never, not ever seen a pop-up (nor under) at WC. Of course I'm a subscriber who's always logged on and I have a pretty aggressive set-up for blocking pop-ups anyway. IMHO with browsing being what it is today, I can't see not using a pop-up blocker.

at Night Train. They don't want to get it but you've hit the point exactly! Clearly the warez users figure it's their right to free working versions of that which we've paid for and Stardock is in business to sell. Anything interfering with that "right" will be SD's fault, not the crackers' and certainly not theirs.

For my part, I vote for the door suggestion Jeep. There seems to be the misunderstanding that SD built WB5 so that cracked copies would screw up your machine. As I'm understanding it, it's the crack that's screwing up. Not SD's doing. Do you have Icon Packager installed? There seems to be a conflict with WB 5 and IP. Changing the name of iprepair.dll fixed the explorer crash for me.

There have been significant numbers of users having problems with WB 5, notably multi-user machines and explorer crashes. That said, there's been much discussion and solutions provided on these forums. Very little effort is required to look for this, probably not much more than jumping on line to complain and certainly much less than a long drawn out battle.

I updated to WB 5 again and immediately explorer crashed. After changing the name of iprepair.dll, it no longer has trouble. As there wasn't a problem using WB 4.6, the problem is clearly between IP and WB 5.0. I used the simple file sharing procedure identified by zaphman in the multi-user issue thread and WB 5 works for all users now.

Like Dragonkiss, I find I have to log off using task manager then log back on to fix the explorer crash. I haven't played with icon packager as the cause but rolling back to WB 4.6 fixes the problem even using the latest IP. When I was running WB 5, the problem occurs with all admin accounts but not with limited user accounts - of course that's probably because WB 5 wouldn't run on limited user accounts.

I'd forgotten about the simple file sharing thing. Thanks, I'll give it a go later. This problem hasn't occured before version 5. It's not good to hear this needs to be done with every update either. In fact, I'm thinking I'll just leave it at 4.6 for a bit. I agree that this shouldn't be necessary but it does explain why my previous fix didn't stick.
