Hey Neskonlith (is that your real name ), do you mean these structures would increase the speed of your fleets traveling between stars? Or would these structures be required to travel between stars?

They really should, especially when you consider the people who would play this mod would also own (or have owned) copies of HW, HW: Cataclysm and HW2.

Alright Schem, my humorous (yet silly) predictions concerning the Northern States joining Canada likely won't happen any time soon (if ever). But eroding U.S. civil rights, water tables, education, financial stability, foreign relations are all going to equate to a lot of trouble. I am betting it will be a lot more trouble for the U.S. than you seem to believe. Also, I am concerned with the U.S. ignoring international law whenever it pleases...but this actually might be solved with a

This already sounds cool. And the ships are already available for use. We can simply grab them from Homeworld, HW:Cataclysm and HW 2. They will need some texture upgrades though. But this is still quite doable. I don't think the Beast will work though. It would require the ship capture ability, and so far we are being told Sins won't have that ability.

Hey Schem, define "BEST" country out there please. Is the U.S. the best because of its multi tier justice/medical/academic systems? Is the U.S. the best because of its aggressive foreign policies? Is the U.S. the best because of its massive dept? Is the U.S. the best because it disregards established international law when it suits its purposes? Is the U.S. the best because of its high gas consumption? Is the U.S. the best because several of

Hmmm, sounds like Greenland and Canada (and maybe Russia) will be the net beneficiaries of Global Warming. Greenlanders will have more usable land as their glaciers melt. Their average temperature will also become slightly more comfortable as well. Canada's average temperature will also increase. This could help northern Canada to become more comfortable for settlement expansion. It's soon to be melted Northwest Passage could become useful for shipping as well. Of course,

Hehe, Multianna, gotta be careful bringing up the bible in a funny way. Some people might get all upset....which actually will just further entertain us. As for Schem, who do you think will fight who in WWIII? Will the Ethiopians kick Italy's ass again? Man, Italy is one interesting country. At the start of WWI, they were allied with the Germans. They immediately switched alliances and attacked the Germans...which resulted in a humiliating Italian battlefield defeat. <b

Hehe, so some people love almost unbreakable stalemates that will drag on for 1/2 hour or longer. Yes, for a hard core die hard stalemate breaking loving fan like you, that is all good. For Ironclad to actually make more than 20 game sales, that is all bad.

I believe that the final in game graphics/effects will be a bit more polished. Those of us with the hardware will still be able to turn things up to a satisfactory level. Also keep in mind that Ironclad is talking about a DirectX 10 content download for us at a later date. Unlike most companies, I actually believe Ironclad will deliver on this. It should all be good.

I can understand why they would use that time period. It is still 'open' for events unlike the official heavily timelined A New Hope - Return of the Jedi period. Hehe, I like that the Clone Troopers have a bit more personality in the trailer. Plus, since the graphics will be inexpensive to do, there will likely be many massive fleet engagements = cool. The more I think of it, the cooler it seems like it will be.

Easier said then done Yarlen. Especially if it comes down to one star system versus another star system. Without those mobile shipyards, a stalemate could easily occur due to the defending star system being able to reinforce far more quickly.

Okay, I've thought this issue over and I've been converted. I agree that star system versus star system battles can become stalemates. The attacker is always at a disadvantage because it takes so long to reinforce. Mobile factories could help the attacker keep up momentum. These factories should only be really effective around stars though (because of the increased AM recharge rate). They should be at least as fast as regular factories at production...maybe even a touch faster.

Keep in mind that for huge entertaining battles around stars to occur, there will need to be some way to force them to happen (such as Phase Space Inhibitor ships). Otherwise, a fleet will arrive and simply jump/attack the nearest planet. Your 'interdiction fleet' would then need to chase them. Phase Space Inhibitor ships removes all that chasing around game play lameness. I see what you mean about mobile factories being needed to defeat the defending owner of a star system. So sure

Trying to attach construction resource logistics to some kind of mobile construction ship would be pretty rough. The only mobile factory that would make sense would be the Vasari planet suckers.

I've been considering the calls for making the gravity wells around stars more important/useful. Let me (and hopefully Ironclad) know what you guys think of the following. Ship weapons and shields could also use the same AM 'fuel tank' that the other special abilities use. A ship that fires its weapons will SLOWLY drain the total AM energy available. When the AM gets low, weapons can suffer reduced power/fire rate. Shields taking damage should put a small drain on the AM stores to s
