Hmmm, I think that movie with Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone (back when she was still hot) was about a chick...errr, woman who enjoyed making love with icepicks. Pretty sure it was called Basic Instinct. When you think about it though, the title really doesn't make any sense for what the movie was about....unless making love with ice picks is a basic instinct thing, in which case I'll happily do without and play the Elemental Beta instead.

Hmmm, if a military victory against Sauron wasn't possible (the initial war)....how did they win the actual battle? If I recall correctly, the battle was already won by the allies when Sauron came out to try to 'even things up a bit'.

Agreed PigeonPigeon. I also fully support the idea that players should have several strategically viable options open to them. Though, I do see where psychoravin is coming from in fearing a 1 super hero strategy trumping all other options (like HoMM).

I was always under the impression that Duke Nukem Forever was a clever hoax (notice the 'Forever' part of the game title). That they were actually making a statement on how great game concepts are developed, but then corporate greed 'forever' diminishes what the gamer actually experiences.

...perhaps 'pushed' would be a more accurate description of events, but I'll be sticking with 'accidentally tripped' for my official statement.

Sorry, which idea was the 'most stupid idea ever'? Hehe. As you can see, I touched on a few things in my post. I was hoping you could enlighten us all on what would make this the best game ever. ***PLEASE READ THIS DEVS*** As far as the 'use diplomacy-march troops next to enemy leader-delcare war = win!' strategy you spelled out, there is one important difference with Elemental. Elemental will have actual Empire borders....marching your troop

I think most of us prefer the idea of the Channeler being on the map and an actual unit! Considering the game concept, I don't think it would be possible for the Channeler to not actually be present on the map. Personally, I would like to be able to defeat an enemy Channeler without having to destroy every single last city of his.As for what should happen with the defeated Channeler's leftover cities and units, there are still discussions presently going on.

Looking at the forests on the maps, I wonder how it will effect units travelling through them. I also wonder if some units will have advantages/penalties travelling and fighting on different terrain. I REALLY hope the devs incorperate terrain modifiers (generalized and unit/building specific).
