Well I guess I should ask before the beta comes out (because god knows how many threads there will be on this when it does come out) but what ports do we need to forward to play Elemental online (if any)? AFAIK none, in theory.
Good news, in theory [e digicons][/e]
Valve wouldn't put their games on Impulse in the first place because they control significantly more DD market share.
Yep, exactly. So no one will move.
And finally, you don't see any Valve games on Impulse. If they don't put Half-Life 2 or Portal or whatever on Impulse, why would Stardock put their games on Steam?
If they don't put Elemental on Steam, why would Valve put their games on Impulse ?
No. Steam has the market power to dictate pricing, while everyone else has to clear prices through the publishers. Even in a best case, trying to sell such things at below-market pricing would result in our selling Steam free advertising at a loss. This is the sort of result (Steam gets to set the pricing and competition is gone) you inevitably run into when you encourage things like store bundling with games.
Perhaps
-I'm just trying to figure this out. So civ 5 and Fallout 3, even if I buy them at a store will force me to download and use steam in order to play? -And also does Steam get to be the only place to purchase a digital copy if one chooses to not buy a physical copy of the game?
- Yes - I'm not sure for F:VN, but for other Steamworks titles you can buy steam key on direct2drive, gamesplanet... I'm about to just give up on all gaming at this rate. Seriously.
I'm guessing we need to wait for Impulse Reactor to have an alternative. I think it's still in beta ?
Works fine for me and I am French (IE8 and Firefox).

I really liked Alpha Protocol, great storyline. DS1 was good, but I don't expect much from it, don't know what Obsidian can do with it.
One thing I really liked in GC2 is how AI are unique. It's not juste some architectural/tech difference between civs, but they act in different ways, like they have their own culture and objectives. You can produce a "perfect" AI, but without some personality, it won't be fun (in my opinion).
p.s. Hello to my friends on CanardPC.
Hehe, thanks we appreciate it.
Yes it is. It's a FPS with RPG (Roll-Playing Game) elements.
Ahah. I recently read a comment about Alpha Protocol which make sense in this case : Justin McElroy, Joystiq: “ Much like obvious influence Mass Effect, whether or not your weapon scores a hit is more dependent on its accuracy statistic than your actual skill.
on the concept of not losing your sov you could have a tech that you build that allows you to imbue an artifact with your sov's essence so that when he is at deaths door it pulls him inside and slowly regenerates him. they take the city they take your sov's chance at surviving death until you reclaim the city. just an idea.
I like it :)
China have invaded Tibet, tried to colonize it, but Tibetan's culture still exists and they have more authority that other Chinese region. By the way, Tibet was military invaded and France was an European colonial power until WW2. I think The Empires can have a bonus when they besiege a city, so the enemy becomes more willing to surrender. But Cultural Domination, no.
Mike Capps is like Bobby Kotick (Activision CEO), the reason why gaming industry sucks.

Debug Mode is available (i.e spawn all units in FULL game) GPG deleted the thread from their forum, but not from SE forums... Sure they are awesome, but they don't seem to handle well censorship [e digicons]:-"[/e]
I gave the new Steam UI a shot this morning and found it to be a complete mess. Not only did they take away the small icons in the games browser window, but all the text in the entire UI is now being anti-aliased, despite me having ClearType disabled in Windows 7.
