This is not a DesktopX widget but if you are running Vista and have DeskScapes installed [link="https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=441&libid=50"]this Dream[/link]will do what you want.

KarmaGirl, Is it possible to import our existing themes into My Colors so we do not have to have two theme managers? Is it just a matter of renaming the file extention? Some of the themes are already Vista ready and it seems pointless to repurchase them just to be able to use My Colors to apply them.
I have to snicker at who some of the commenters are that are suggesting more free themes over at download.com. ;) I do like the idea behind My Colors. Much better than crippled or timed out shareware.
MyColors is a new feature of Object Desktop whose themes contain everything the user needs. A user of Object Desktop will receive at least 4 free MyColors themes over the course of a year after purchase with additional premium themes available for purchase (typically for $8 a piece unless it’s licensed content).
Will these be currently unreleased themes or are they going to be ones that are currently for sale? I would hate to buy one and then find out that I would have gotten i
Happy to help and I'm glad you got it working. :)
You should change the title of this post to... Here's some advice for being a candy ass whimp.
I created Among the Clouds, Rocky Surf, and Catch A Wave as mpeg2 Dreams. I've listed a few things that may be the cause. What are you running for a video card and do you have the latest video drivers installed for it? You may have a codec installed that is incompatable. Here's a good [link="http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/installed_codec.html"]codec manager [/link]that you can use to check what's installed and disable them one at a time to figure out if you
I believe Home Premium comes with mpeg2 support built in. What Dream is giving you trouble?
Horrible weather here in Summerville...Sunny, mild breeze, 45% humidity, 68F / 20C. :) I just don't know how much more of this I can stand. ;)
I still am unsure if you are able to run video as a dreamscene. At this point all I can suggest is to uninstall deskscapes. After uninstalling deskscapes, manually delete the "C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Deskscapes" directory if the uninstall process didn't delete it. Reboot. Open Stardock central, reinstall deskscapes Reboot. Try desckscapes and hopefully it will work.
except for the vid ones...
which ones can you run? are you able to use the bouncing box dream?
Are the dreams mpeg or wmv...can you run the video's that came with Microsoft's Dreamscene like vid9899 or vid1337? If you are able to run them then it's doubtful that it's a codec issue. If you can't, it probaly is. Also, try using a wmv as a dreamscene...one of the ones that microsoft installed in your video directory will do or try your original plasma wmv that we created your dream out of. Have you restarted your system between installs? Is Nero installed? Edit, Tropica
You have to install a loader type program to install your registered programs. Use the address suplied to you in the email you recieved confirming your purchase. You can use Stardock Central or you download and install Impulse. Once your registration info is entered, you should have deskscapes as one of your install choices.
Someone forget to pay the power bill? ;)
I see it alot with IE6 but not with 7. If I navigate back, it will usually load.
Looks like the guys at Microsoft need to give up smoking the weed.
Well...here's a link to [link="https://www.wincustomize.com/viewskin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=35149&LibID=8"]my first one[/link]...since I thougt it would never be downloaded I deleted it but I ran across the link to the page and guess what, it still works just the files are gone. I believe I still qualify though so gimme' my award. ;)
It's where Windows stores it's wallpapers...Don't now if this will work in VISTA or not.
That's the default location for Vista also.
if my HDD takes a shit, i simply install a new one and do the complete PC restore and BAM all my stuff comes back just the way it was before the failure
whatwhere...don't try to change hard drive size if you have to replace your drive. One of Microsoft's security features is that it will not let you restore to a different size drive than you created your backup from. Stupidest thing I have ever heard of. Also, don't think you can get around this by playing around with partitio
When it comes to monitors, try to get a 22 inch or better widescreen. I saw the HP w2207 on sale at tiger direct the other day for $249.00. That is a good price for an awesome monitor. I have yet to see a monitor with a display as good as it.
You have to bleed for your craft
There's been a few late nights where I've done the bobble head hard enough to hit the keyboard and I may have drawn blood once. Come to think of it, I believe I spilt my beer instead...either way, that should count. ;)
Did you restart your system after installing?
That version is not the preview. It looks like it came out of beta the other day. Install it and give it a shot...it works fine on my systems.
dxm765 As long as you have a current Object desktop subscription you can uninstall the 2.0 preview, then open up stardock central and install the version that shows under Object desktop.
