the AI doesn't plan multiple turns without a dual core processor? i thought kryo just said it works without one, but takes longer...
yesssss, constructurds...yesss...my precioussss.
i'm pretty sure it is a common problem with Vista. on Windows XP, the software cursor works fine.
is the software cursor going to be fixed for Vista in the next patch? when the cursor is moved, it flickers/flashes and so it practically cannot be used. the hardware cursor works fine, but GC2 uses a really narrow hardware cursor and so it is harder to see than the Vista default cursor.
New save game directory under Vista please. It is cluttering My Documents with the unnecessary folder of My Saved Games , this is annoying. C:\Users\{user}\Saved Games\ would be appropriate, as it's already there by default.
these guys are paranoid. if they'd learn how to use a computer they wouldn't even need anti-spyware and anti-virus software, like me. first of all, IE6 & 7 have tons of security flaws, so if you're still using them, well then shame on you. with that said, it is the hacker's choice browser because it is installed by default with Windows and therefore the most commonly used.
I would try to ally, then try to culture flip them. Wow that sounds like extreme cheese. Frankly if your able to do that without them declaring war then the game is broken and Stardock need to fix it. uh? i do this in just about every game to atleast 1 AI. how is it broken? they won't declare war on their ally because they don't want --diplomacy with everyone.
Gas is a state of matter. There's nothing solid on a gas planet to build a foundation on, unlike an aquatic planet where there's likely solid core deep under the oceans. And a toxic planet's air and atmosphere is poisonous, but it still likely has a solid core. About the uninhabitable planets, I'd guess that some planets simply have no atmosphere and are therefore impossible to colonize. My understanding of a barren world is that it is devoid, lifeless, and lacking some key points needed in orde
WAYPOINTS I've never had the auto explore setting perform very well. My scouts usually go to the same position and it's really ineffective. I would like to set a my own course with waypoints, spanning over weeks at a time, for my ships. The ship would go directly to Waypoint A (in a straight line if possible), then to Waypoint B, and so on. An easy way for the user to access this would be to just hold down a key while setting the course normal
something similar happened to me. i don't remember exact details, but i do remember clicking NO to a war popup dialog and then it said i declared war on my ally, and from that point on i had 2 negative modifiers on my diploamcy for everyone for being untrustworthy. i said wtf out loud and started a new game, didn't bother loading my last autosave.
hmm i clicked Declare War on accident before and i freaked out when i saw their reply. then i realized that you still have to click Send to actually declare war, unless there's a bug you're having.
when you press Esc to exit the negotiation menu with an AI, their race specific music continues to play instead of switching back to the normal soundtrack.
i have an impossible time when trading on difficulties Crippling and up. i play as Terran and it sucks, there's a cut off point where diplomacy just doesn't do anything for you. trading is so bad, i really don't see why it is in the game. they should take it out or fix it. on lower difficulties it can be exploited. you can trade an economic treaty early in game for a couple planets & all their techs, gold, and influence points.
i updated the game to 1.5.072 or whatever and started a new game. early on, i queued some factory upgrades from basic to regular and when the first one completed they all did at the same time. later in the game this stopped happening. difficulty was obscene, i don't know, maybe the game was giving me a handicap or is this a bug?
it's buggy as hell anyway. i reinstalled gc2 after testing it. i noticed my factories and labs would all upgrade simultaneously when the first one is finished.
I just finished my first game under beginner mode and I thought it was really lame when pirates entered the galaxy about 10 years into the game. They were extremely powerful and destroyed all my ships & starbases, but they wouldn't attack my planets? Eventually they put the Drengin out of commission and I formed an alliance with the other 2 races left standing and won easily. Why does the game throw put such impossible enemies at you, the pirates' fleets had attack around 80 while my f
